In the free demo, you get to play through the start of the first case to be featured in the upcoming Nintendo DS title. Traditionally, the first case in an Ace Attorney game serves as a tutorial to help ease gamers into the role of a defense attorney, using evidence, testimony, and logic to win in court. But while the demo is suitable for newcomers, experienced players will still be surprised at some of the twists and turns that are in store for them if they can’t wait for the full release.
Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney will be the fourth game in the series and features a new cast of characters, as opposed to the first three games which revolved around the ongoing trials of character Phoenix Wright. Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney is also the first Ace Attorney game specifically designed for the DS, since the previous games all came out on the Nintendo Game Boy Advance in Japan initially.
The full DS game is currently slated for a release on February 19, so the free demo arrives a month in advance of the real thing.
Correction: the story originally stated that the demo included the complete first case when it only included the starting portion of it. This has since been corrected.

Fun fact: This translation isn't very good, isn't the one in the final game, and in fact as acquired by Capcom through a fan site
