Title: Get out the Ban Hammer, I'm asking for trouble...
Post by: UncleBob on January 06, 2008, 03:49:53 AM
So... I'm going to make a thread, just because I'm curious.

There are a few ground rules, however.  First, only Citizens of the United States of America are allowed to participate.  No offense to anyone else, but your opinion doesn't really apply in this post.

Second, this is a poll only.  I don't want any conversation or debate going on in this thread.  Now, I know polls are bad, but in this case, I think it's the best option.

Third, I want to know - who are you going to vote for for President this year?  Just leave the name (or, if you're not going to vote, just say "No Vote").

So, I've got a political poll that purposely excludes half the board.  It may look like I'm asking to get in trouble, and perhaps I am... but I'm just really curious as to who people on this board are supporting...

NO VOTE because the electoral college assures my vote doesn't matter.

I'm beginning to wonder if I shouldn't have put this in the funhouse...

Aren't we not supposed to have polls? Or discuss politics at all? Not that I care, I'm willing to risk it.  Plus, I'm not sure I grasp the value in just saying who we want and not discussing it.

1. Ron Paul
and it ends there.

The debates last night were good btw.

I would lock this if it wasn't in the funhouse.

Also, Ron Paul is a crazy person.

I'm totally gonna respond to this. Sorry.  Mod started it :/

If he is crazy, then I'm voting for crazy because bankrupting the country on a ridiculous and unmanageable foreign policy is something something I don't want.  But I'm not gonna play universal health care either, sorry Democrats.

Someone go ahead and lock this.  I should have known it was a bad idea...

nah it's okay.  We can try to keep on going, but lets try to not discuss or poke a candidate. Cause I think If anyone of us had their candidate poked at they'd be tempted to respond too.  Not that I'm irritated or mad. Just talking.

The Doc's got my vote if he makes it (which, unfortunately, is very unlikely), but I can already see where this is going.

The fact that he's a crazy person isn't necessarily a bad thing.    I just think he's a crazy person.

Yeah... but for some reason, U.S. Politics is soo much more interesting to follow compared to Canadian politics... hmm...

I'm going to give my top 3 for both sides!

Republican:
1. Gulliani
2. Romney
3. Mccain

Democrat:
1. Hillary
2. Obama
3. Edwards

Person I would never vote for: Ron Paul and his myriad of KKK/nazi supporters.

Now see if you ran for president Kairon that would be anti-establishment because you aren't supposed to run for president and you never held public office. The SUPER ANTI-ESTABLISHMENT candidate is KAIRON.

Vote Kairon in '08

Maybe it's because I wasn't politically aware or active when I was growing up in Canada. I have San Francisco, CA to thank for my political awareness.

No, it is because Canada doesn't matter, no one can blame you for that!

McCain's highest on the list right now, but I'm not entirely decided.  I'll probably wind up voting for whoever I agree with most on the ballot, regardless of whether it's "throwing my vote away."  I'd rather do what I think is right and not make any sort of splash than make a vote that matters.  But we'll have to see what happens.

Seriously, when we get unsupported crap like this  posted, it's time to lock the thread.

That is a lame remark.  I agree.  But it's GP, overly harsh generalizations are a personal specialty.

But I know I'm not gonna go out and say some crappy about a candidate I don't like. People should just keep an open mind and respect others opinions. I wouldn't recommend talking the way GP did in an actual discussion that should be kept low key.

I see where everyones reasoning is and respect that.  But I'm certainly not a sympathizer of Neo Nazis and KKKs.

Locked due to request from the original poster...

And, after all, it is skirting the rules.

First time I've ever locked a thread in the funhouse.
