I'm a little ways into it now and I'm not convinced that the most pretentious fps of the year is either near GOTY or better than Doom 3 yet

.And yeah, Bioshock was a good game but it was obnoxiously overhyped. Hell, not even Halo 3 was this hyped!
And I agree, its an extremely pretentious game. I can't help but see the developer's ego and arrogance throughout the whole thing. Its beautifully designed, yes, but do we need to have it shoved down our throats?
"Hey look at us! We were able to recreate 50's art and decor! We spent 100 hours trying to get that poster to look real! We are great artists!"
I just...I don't know. I too couldn't see what the big deal is about.
