We've had this problem locally at our Wal*Mart. We have never been told when we're getting them in, we just know that they come in via UPS. We used to tell customers this, but then we were told by the UPS driver that people were harassing him, asking him if he knew when he'd have some, if he'd call them when he was delivering them, following him to learn his route, etc., etc...
We don't tell customers *anything* now. We get trucks in every day of the week, Wiis could potentially be on any of the trucks, and we receive trucks between 6 AM and 2 AM.

This is mind-blowing. I know a ton of people who are now trying to get a Wii for their kids. They had all year to do it and waited until Black Friday to start looking for one. People like that drive me nuts. Had they just bought one whenever they saw it this whole problem would be solved. I have been in Walmart plenty of times over the last few months and seen Wiis in the case, so there are no excuses from these people I know. I'm sure the situation isn't much different in most places in the US.

UPS employees should be authorized to carry tasers to handle these people.

Wow.
Reminds me of last year, around launch, when i worked at the nintendo store. One of our UPS guys said he would have people follow his ruck around whenever he was in the area and one even tried to get into the underground delivering dock where the shipments are actually dropped off! You'd think the craziness would stop with people on the streets, nope. Even some other workers in the area at Rockafeller Plaza would start asking us to slep them a shipment box and offer us money, more than what the wii cost. It was nuts.
back then i would never of thought it would still be selling like this

I've only seen a Wii in stores once. I don't know what the circumstances about that Wii were, but it was in a best buy. It was on a table in the middle of the store with an employee standing right there. He had a register. I asked him how long he'd been there and was told he'd JUST set up. I came back a few minutes later and saw he had sold it.

And people wonder why letter and package carriers get more and more cranky each day...

Well, the stores around my school all have wiis in about every other week. Granted it is only 3 or so units. But its something. Glad I found mine over summer by hitting up walmart everyday on my way home from work. My DS was about 1/4 of the difficulty. Only had to go for three or so days to find it.

Wow, when I hear stories like this it's very easy to see why Crimm is upset.

This time last year - and it was exactly a year ago today! - I had to travel from work in the City up to a blockbuster in tottenham to get mine. My best friends sister hid THE VERY LAST ONE in her store for me. They only had three. The tube journey home was certainly interesting, trying to hide the almost-see-through plastic bag for an hour and a half.

In what regard? The lack of Wii supply (I reserved mine, waited in line for a whole hour)?
