Title: Space Invaders Extreme (beach volleyball)
Post by: Infernal Monkey on November 15, 2007, 08:22:53 PM
Hey NWR, my name is Infernal Monkey, and I like Space Invaders. I hated Space Invaders Revolution though. I really hated Space Invaders Revolution. It was the first IP revival Taito decided to hurl onto DS, which was followed by the equally terrible Bubble Bobble Revolution, Rainbow Islands Revolution, New Zea-wait, New Zealand Story Revolution was okay. And so forth. Well, it seems Taito got the hate mail in 256 shades of red, as their latest takes on DS are certainly an improvement. Bubble Bobble Double Shot? Pretty cool. Space Invaders Extreme?
Crazy! There's a video on the website (click PV on the right). Both this and the upcoming Arkanoid seem to share the same style.. which is going around a lot lately, but it works. Eye bleeding is a must! Sounds like it might also be taking a leaf out of Space Invaders Evolution (getting confused yet? Evolution was for the PSP!) by working music together with the blasting action. Evolution was awesome. :]

You must've had a really weird version of Space Invaders. I wish I had that, my Space Invaders was only a boring blip-bloop-blip-bloop game.

The 2600 version kept changing its background and sprite colours non-stop if you powered it on and left it alone without selecting a game.

I've been on the lookout for both those games. It's neat that they are bringing them to North-America, but why are they being such assholes for not including the Arkanoid paddle. I was actually surprised that Infernal Monkey didn't post anything about Space Invaders Extreme when I read the news over a couple of days ago.

Space Invaders ships tomorrow, looks like its only 20 bucks. Anyone else picking it up? I've been waiting a while for this one!

Anyone by chance find this anywhere today? Looks like Gamestop later this week is the only option. Most stores seem to be doing internet only on this title, bummer.

Yeah, it's posted somewhere...under the blogs, I think. Why do you think GP calls me Lindy Luthor?

No. That's not what I asked. I know you're Lex luther. My fault I wasn't explicit enough. I meant to ask if you finished Space Invaders Extreme.

I believe I got to level 4, and it started getting pretty hard. I still haven't been able to beat that level.

Yeah it does get quite difficult near the end of the game, but it's so worth it because it's an awesome game.

A friend passed this to me a few weeks ago and I can't stop playing. I'm also hitting the wall at level 4. I can make it to the boss but it gets hectic, but not as crazy as the boss for level 3. I think I'm going to check for the paddle over the weekend.

» Bingo System: Taito throws in the classic game of Bingo where a grid is lit up during the course of a stage as invaders are shot. To win at Bingo, key spots on the grid must light up horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. » Multiplayer WiFi Mode: Compete against another player via wireless Wi-Fi connection with new strategic considerations.
Preorders are welcome to ship on March 26, 2009 at JPY3800 or US$43.90 from NCS. Similar to the original SIE, the upcoming sequel will support the Nintendo DS Paddle Controller.

They should pair it with the paddle if it all possible this time around. There's enough geeks out there to make it worth their while.

If you don't get the paddle you're not a serious gamer.
Thread winner = me
