Title: NINTENDO FANBOYS
Post by: FOX McLOUD on March 25, 2003, 08:18:51 AM
I am a Nintendo fanboy. I love Nintendo. That is why I say please everyone just let fanboys be. The industry was founded by a loyal market of gamers called fanboys"people that love to hate other systems". But for some reason, people now more and more have maybe 2 or 3 systems, and now there are not as many fanboys as their once were. Once we Nintendo fanboys made up 100% of the market from 1985 to 1990, but now are once noble and elite race is dwaning. Now the fanboy is being descriminated against. We are mocked, riddiculed, and shuned by the evil people that belong to their masters, Sony, and Microsoft. So what I say is that we fight back againt these two evil demons. Go out, spread the goodness of belonging exclusively to Nintendo, and please rekindle the worldwide love for Nintendo. I can't do it alone. Please help. Because if you do, I can garunty that someday we will all have put Nintendo back on top.
Your loving future president of NINTENDO OF AMERICA.

I am the greatest Nintendo fanboy who ever lived. I personally see no problems with fanboys on any systems, as long as they obey several rules.
1) Be fair. Saying a game sucks just because it's not on your system is just stupid. 2) Don't attack the other fanboys. Attack their systems, unless they are so childish that it's impossible to do otherwise. 3) Have an adequate knowledge of the subject at hand. It goes without saying that you are going to know the history of your own console inside out, but at least try to learn about the other consoles as well. It makes arguments much more interesting, and makes you sound intelligent. 4) Use proper english, and keep profanity to a minimum. 5) Try to keep a level of objectivity in your arguments. You can favor your system, but ALWAYS use facts to back up your thesis.

I'm a fanboy because I only buy Nintendo systems. But you know what? I've been satisfied with every system, even the N64. It had a limited lineup, but a good percentage of great games. I don't bash other systems for the most part, just mess around with xbox fans. But I play all systems, and like alot of other games on those systems, but none as much as my NIN games. Did that make any sense?

Well, I don't really go out looking for Xbox fanboys most days. I generally stick to gaming boards though, so I do encounter them now and then. And in my experience, Xbox fanboys are usually fixated on seeing some digital bouncing jugs, or something like that. Only one Xbox fan I have ever met actually seemed interested in playing games for fun, and spoke with any degree of intellect.

I hate fanboys. To me, they're the lowest life form on the planet. I think maybe you guys have a different definition of fanboys, though. To me, a fanboy is someone is so droolingly loyal and biased to their alignment that they'll lie, distort facts, and BS to "prove" they're the best. They ignore any system that's not made by their company-of-choice and will bash and flame anyone raising a valid critiscism of their beloved console. You guys I'd classify as loyal fans- you love Nintendo above all else but you still have the open mind you need to enjoy non-Nintendo games. I guess we just think differently.

In Wind Waker, there's a tribute to Nintendo fanboys. If you talk to the guy who runs the ________ Gallery (don't want to spoil it for ya), he says something like:
"Our membership has gotten low as of late. People are leaving because the ________ Gallery doesn't have all the bells and whistles as some others do. But we've got a special group of hardcore, devoted gallery members, who will always stick with us. And its those kind of people that we stick around for."
So basically, Nintendo's really glad to have a devoted fanbase. Nice that they put that in the Zelda game.

Yeah, I caught that too. Some of the _______ have descriptions that are pretty good to hear as well.
"Lately his club has been losing membership because he hasn't done anything "cool" with it, but as long as Link hangs around, everything will be all right!"

What Nintendo needs to realize is that there's a reason they have such devoted fans. Because they always deliver such titles as this latest Zelda, Nintendo fans have good reason to stick with them. They should worry more about maintaining their tradition of quality titles, than about some gamers jumping ship.
Hmm, now for something completely different. For any system, there's a huge assortment of fan types. There are fanboys, hardcore gamers, casual gamers, newbies, and enthusiasts. Some gamers are considered to be immature and pathetic, for they bash other consoles and worry excessively about the welfare of their own. These kinds of gamers give the rest of the userbase a bad name. They are not fanboys. They are saboteurs.
The kinds of fanboys I appreciate, and the ones that Nintendo made a dedication to in Wind Waker, are true gamers. These kinds of gamers play games simply because they are entertaining, and they stick with Nintendo for they know that Nintendo will keep on impressing.
Fox, Nintendo is not in any danger of failing, nor does it need to be number one. The only benefit a Nintendo fan would get from having Nintendo be number one would be bragging rights.
However, even though PS2 is currently the market leader, do you see all the PS2 owners bragging? No. Does it really matter? Only if you're in it for the money.

You can be a fan without being ignorant. I tend to like Nintendo fans more because they're more open to the other systems. PS2/Xbox fanboys often annoy, while Nintendo fans are generally good about being nice and fair.

heheh, Nintendo rocks. I bet when the Wind Waker dev team came up with the whole gallery feature, Miyamoto was probably the one who wanted to make it be a tribute to Nintendo's gaming loyalists. or maybe the PR department was just being nice.

Let me start out by saying that I am not a Nintendo fanboy, however that goes without saying that Nintendo is indeed my console of choice out of all the next generation systems. I know that last statement might have contridicted itself so let me clarify it. I own two GameCube's (indigo and platium) and I also own an Xbox and although I own one, I plan to sell it becuase I am not unhappy with it. It was one of those situations where I thought I would like it and in the end, I did not. I am one of those Nintendo fans that is open minded toward other consoles and will usually give of them a try before I decide that I do not like the console or no longer have a need or interest in it. I have no plans on buying a PS2 right now, as I will put my time and money in to my GameCube and GBA SP. All in all, If you love Nintendo like I do, but you wish to own a second console, do not be afraid to try a PS2 or an Xbox and do not bash them until you have tried them.

I think one of the reasons why Nintendo fanboys seem to be more open to other systems is that many of them have been fans since way back. They've seen systems come and go and know that good games come out all over the place, not just on Nintendo platforms.
I'm not a fanboy at all - I just love the video game industry. But I do favor Nintendo systems over others...I'll always buy a Nintendo system the day it comes out, but Sony or Microsoft will have to give me a darn good reason to pick up their console or I'll ignore it for the most part.

Same here. I've considered buying and Xbox or PS2, but then I just thought "why?" There's no real reason that I want either of those systems. Sure, I play them when visiting friends or whatnot, but there's no reason for me to own one. The ______ Gallery made me smile, and yesterday night I hooked my N64 back up for the first time in years (forgot how good it was), at the request of a young friend of mine. While we were playing he complained that he only had a Playstation and a Playstation 2, and that N64 had all the good games. I nearly cried with joy. Take that, doubters!

I am not a "fanboy" I am a nintendo FAN,
I love nintendo because they make the best games. I rate games based on how much fun i had with them, good story might integrate into that, pretty graphics less so. Its the overall experience to see how much the game impresses me.
Metroid Prime impressed me. Final Fantasy X didn't. Chrono Trigger Impressed me. Metal Gear Solid 2, Didn't.
Its simple things like that that make see that nintendo is truly my favorite devoloper. Miyamoto has a way... To make things seem fun, he somehow has "perfect" puzzle's, right when they get aggrivating, you figure it out. and a big smile comes across your face. a HUGE feeling of accomplishment. Thats what i play games for, For that feeling of accomplishment. Its just a great feeling knowing that you did it yourself.
My top 2 favorite games of all time are Metroid Prime Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.
now, those are 2 completely different games to most people, different universes, one is 2d, one is 3d. Both are great games, incredibly fun. But, there are things that are similar throughout them, like any other Miyamoto game, they have the same feeling of accomplishment throughout them.
I still currently only own nintendo Systems, even though I love sega, and Square, I've been able to complete most Square games on friends systems, (and I own Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger, and FF3(6) for SNES) by going over there quite a bit in the course of a week or so. The only game that made me seriously consider buying a PS2 happened to be DDR. for reasons i still don't understand... (Luckily, a friend of mine that lives closeby bought DDR with 2 Redoctane ignition pads, i just go over there now.
The type of people I dislike are the unknowledged. They take popular opinion too far without even having any base behind it. I was talking to a friend of mine a few days ago, She said that gamecube sucked. When i mentioned nintendo games, she said, and i quote "Nintendo doesn't make any games". Its the people that try to argue without any knowledge of what theyre arguing that piss me off. I've played my fair Share of PS2 and Xbox games, and some of them are rather good, but nothing of nintendo quality. (Note: since then, i convinced her sister to buy a gamecube and She's enjoying the hell outa metroid prime, and asked me if TWW was any good, score!)
I am a nintendo Fan, "Fanboy" maybe, I love nintendo because they make the best games, and I'm going to stick with nintendo, because i know they will ALWAYS make the best games.

noe cuz segay is teh sux syl_aran pretty much summed up my feelings to a T, i agree the most annoying thing about console fans are the ones who pick up a tiny bit of knowledge and then try and flaunt that like they know everything and give them and their particular console a terrible image (for example, most xbawx owners i know... wouldn't want to stay in the room with them for 2 seconds after you mention the gh3ycube)

I've never purchased any systems that were made by anyone other than Nintendo, so in that respect you could call me a fanboy. However, I play games across all consoles (and the PC) and keep myself well-informed on the business front of the gaming industry, which is just as important as getting four lines cleared at the same time in Tetris.
At this point in my life I can now say without thinking twice that I am a hardcore gamer, the next evolutionary step for most fanboys everywhere.
I say that because I remember distinctly when I was in elementary school and even most of high school, where I always promoted Nintendo systems and shot down the others, especially Sega! I was definately a fanboy back then. As time goes on, however, you learn more and more about what goes on in the gaming industry (if you are curious enough, like I was) and you learn that there is more than just one system, but all of em, and how they impact each other and, more importantly, how they all keep the games flowing and not grind the industry to a halt.
You move on from a fanboy when you decide to open up to the other possibilities that are available from other systems. That doesn't mean that you should go out and buy a PS2 and a XBox, it means that you are open-minded enough to realize that they have their perks, too, and that they aren't crap systems. If you do say things like that, which I have done before (hey, I'm honest about it!), back your words with evidence instead of just saying stuff like, "Man, the GameCube ROCKS and everything else SUCKS!" over and over again.
It's been written by Darwin back in the day, and it applies here, too! Fanboys evolve into hardcore gamers if circumstances allow!

OldMan Nintendo... are you me? Or am I you? It's just like you have summed up a great deal of my history and philosophy in your post. *claps* Well done.
I still don't see what there is to like about Xbox though. I am not simply being biased. I have looked for something to like about it, and I find absolutely nothing. It's got a couple of good games, but no system sellers IMO.

Grey Ninja, we are what many fanboys have become.
And yes, I have to agree with you that the XBox isn't that appealing. Hey, try this the next time you find a XBox fanboy: ask him to list off five kick-ass games for the XBox that is not Halo.
I'm not going to elaborate on that because that'll kill this thread, but I will say this: I can list off ten GameCube games that kick ass...

Please note my memory moves in circles..where one time seems like the other.....Sometimes i don't do the dishes one day because I thought i juist did them. I remember most everything. But not chronologically.
ah my gaming history. As a young boy i remember the mid to late 80's Teddy roxbin, my little pony's cabbage patch kids, GI joe, transformers, and slimeballs. I lived on a street called Euclid(most likely named after the philosopher) and in my backyeeard there was a patch of land. It had some trees in it and i used to play in th backyard in the mud that would accumulate near the carporch. The year of 3 yes was quite nice. Eating watermelons and such and playing with my slimeballs baseball bat and my buble lawnmower and my toy cars. I guess the ealiest thing i can equate to gaming that i was exposed to was a simon says flash toy. You know the type of toy that makes a tone and lights up and your upposed to memorise the tones and hit the buttons in the right order. Quite the cool little electronic game. My second experinece with games I was probably about 4-5. I had this freind named David, and he had a brother named mark and anotehr brother which i forget his name. Their house is very vague to me. I dont remember the inside of i. I just remember the playroom. They had taken a garage and they had placed a carpet in the inside and put little cabnets for toy storage and stuff and at the front of the playroom where the garage door used to open they had a couch and a tv. The tv touched the wall and the couch was parrallel to the tv. Next to the tv was a little grey box. I had no idea what it was. It wasnt very colorful and it didn't interest me much. We played with our toys for a little bit and then after a while Davids mom came in and told us to put our toys away. We did so and we found something else to do. Someone turned on the tv and we sat on the couch. Someone turned on the grey box. And soemone turned off the lights. A screen popped up with a little man in suspenders and a duck at the bottom. I couldn't read yet so i was just told that the little man was mario. I never saw a video game before. I guess they blazed throught the first level so fast because i only remember the underworld level from my encounter. My brother was there and he too thought it was cool. After seeing the little man get mushrooms and flowers and jump and play with turtles we needed an Intenda. So for a years we begged for the system and we finally recieved(i beleive super nintendo came out shortly after we got our original) At the same time my dad got a commadore 64. My memory is a little fuzzy because i remember him having a computer before we lived in the house we lived in at the time.So we got our little grey box and we had another box that had pacman and q*bert on it and some wizard game with bandaids or something. We moved aroudn a bit. We kept on finding nicer houses in our nice southern town. Somehow the commadore 64 got put away. It was obselete and wasnt' compatable with anything. We were living in a house in the country(lets say ninja turtles and other things happened inbetween this period) and my dad got this computer called a 386...whci we later upgraded to a 486. There were reallyno games for the computer. A port of castelvania and Rescue rangers. This computer had a 5 inch floppy drive and a new 3.5 inch floppy drive. Anyways i used a program called print shop and i would make little scens wit hthe various clip art the had in its archive. Not a game but fun. Anyways we got windows and i played with pain(paint is for kids Aoi Tsuki..)paint was different in Windows 3.1. There was only 16 colors the tools were set up differently(basically i had to relearn it in win95 it has been reprogramed a few times) anyways i started to get to the point where i could make some really cool looking pictures about the time congo was about to come out(much later). When i was in 4rth grade mortal kombat came out and was all awesome. I played that game in the arcade all the time. Id go to this place called the fun factory and play it and the xmen arace game(roxorz!) Also at hte same time shareware was popular and all the rage was doom. Doom was cool. Demons and evil, guns and blood. The game type was new...3d with a gun. It was great. On the playground we talked about doom and mortal kombat nad street fighter and all sorts of things. My brother had a sega genisis and he had sonic and knuckles and a bunch of other games. anyways we got a cd rom for our ocmputer and madogg macgee and mario is missing(the pc version is way better...though its still an educaction game)and i played alot of m.u.d.s like legend of the red dragon and usurper(my firstonline experiences) Eventually we moved to arizona. And aout 7th grade since iwas so isolated in our apartment and it was so hot there was nothing to do with out getting heat strokee, i got into gaming. I blazed through games i found impossable to beat. I beat games in this order. Mario is missing, mario bros, mario bros 3. i tried to beat hook bu the damn system kept dying...though i could proabably beat it if i really tried now..i made a patch of the game and turned peter pan into luigi. That same year we moved from that apartment to the houser i live now for the last 6-7 years. N64, that experience in the apartment where i had nothing but me and mario to entertain myself left an impression on me. Anyways i visited toys r us and saw soemthing i thought was crazy. Mario in 3d! OMFG! The person hwo palyed last had lowered the water level..the game was bigger then i remember...the outside level is way different theni remember..i think when i saw it i was so shocked by this new 3d world that i justleft remembering it differently. Anyways the person had lowered the waterlevel outside and had left mario in the castle on the basement floor next to the door that leads out. Anyways i wnet ousided and i jumped in the water and started swimmign towards the islan....anyways..yeah i stopped playign after a while i had to go. anyways im sure you guys had similar esperiences with goldeneye and zerlda so i will nto ellaborate.

heheh, counting half years are we?
I'll be 18 in 6 days (word) and indeed I'm starting to see videogames in a whole new perspective. My friends and I no longer talk about how great some game is and how everyone should buy it, or how many more polygons one system can render over another. Instead, we talk about the games and systems we are currently playing, and spend lots of times just crashing at X person's house to play game Y.
My favorite system is the Nintendo Gamecube, but I enjoy playing PS2 and Xbox as well. Oh, and Old Man Nintendo, that was an odd thing to say, saying that without Halo an Xbox fanboy couldn't list 5 kick-ass games. Why exclude Halo?
Anyhow, I'm currently playing Xenosaga (PS2), Pokémon Sapphire (GBA), PSO (Xbox), Halo (Xbox) and Pikmin (GCN). The way I see it, play games that are fun- it doesn't matter the system or the genre, as long as it's something that interests you.

july 1981 to march 1984... 2 years 9 months to be precise. Ok were off topic. Fanboy IS ME TIS TRUTH OR SOMETHING.
i don't know i wasnt really a hardcore nintendo gamer till early 96. I had Nintendo but my brother would never let me play it...it was in his room and he owned all the games. We never got a Super Nintendo(probably because we got NES so late in its life span) but we got a Sega Genisis. I love Sonic, but seriously...Sonic Team really does move in a different dirrection as the rest of the company.

that reminds me, originally my brother and I were each going to get our own Gamecubes. but then we decided not to...resulting in me getting a lot less game time than I should
speaking of Nintendo fanboys, who's the biggest fanboy of them all?

rodtod, in my experience, an Xbox fanboy asked that question will give this list. 1) Halo 2) Halo 3) Halo 4) Halo 5) Halo It sounds completely retarded, but 3 times out of 5, that's the answer I get. It makes perfect sense to exclude Halo.
Perm, you are still a young pup. When you hit 20, then you will feel true age.
And by the way, I am Nintendo's biggest fanboy. I couldn't prove it this year, but next year I am pulling out all the stops if this contest is on again. I will win if it's the last thing I ever do. My pride is seriously hurt.

Well, I am old enough to have a real sword now... (and I do). But I assure you that every year after you hit 20 feels like another century has gone by. I'm serious. Ask any 21 year old if they feel old.

I know plenty 15-year-olds with real swords. I prefer the plastic ones myself, or a good ol' fashioned cardboard tube.

Yeah, I was just saying that to make him seem all the younger. I occasionally stab someone with it, but I haven't killed anyone yet, so it's all good. I keep nunchaku and a good tube around for bashing people with REALLY hard.
As for the blood of young maidens, I have tried that. It tastes and feels good, but I don't think it stops the aging.

Fear me and my nerf sword of doom! Ya....I have a real sword, but due to my size (5'4) and its size (4 feet) it is a bit on the hard side to swing it.

And then it's time to club and drink to my hearts content. Not that I don't already do so. Haha. And why are we talking about this personal crap? This ain't a place to flaunt our egos.
EDIT: You know, I can't really say I've known an Xbox gamer who'll say what cool exclusive games there are on XBox other than Halo. It's true.

I have heard a lot about Splinter Cell too, but since it's not exclusive anymore, they mostly just stick to DOA Xtreme Volleyball, and how much it rules.

Halo is the only Xbox game that I really liked. PS2 has Sly Cooper, but my friend doesn't have that many PS2 games (though he did get Parappa the rapper 2, and that looks cool), so I don't know. I suppose I'm a Nintendo fanboy, but I attempt to be as reasonable as possible.
I don't have a sword, but I do collect metal pipes. I have five or six right now.

I like to be witn Nintendo since I had my first NES when I was a tad midgit, and I loved it since.
In fact so far my N64 collection is like 30+ games. My GCN collection is close to beating it. The Nintendo games are great, the perhiperals (Although as marketing gimmicks as they may be) are just plain cool. I just dont like the PS2 since I have a Playstation myself, and I dont see the whole rage. Probably because I'm not a Squaresoft fan, I'm big on platformers, and thats pretty much what I got. But its very lackluster in this area. But for some reason I like the Crash and Gex games. Call me nuts, but thats the way I am. Reason why I dont like RPG's is because its the Disney of the video game industry. Its just an overhyped love story that have characters that trade personalities from one game to the next. Not to mention the goal is pretty much the same god damn thing every time. Theres going to be a love interest thats super magical powerful and all this other crap, you are the chosen one of Bimbo country, and you need to save the world from sone guy who had crappy parents.
Yeah, I've never played any of the games, but really, did I miss a lot? I think not. Not to mention Squaresoft is one of the most overhyped companies out there.
Oh, one other thing, did Eghertz oversell Super Smash Bros. on the N64? You know, the fighting game with Final Fantasy 7 characters in it. And man, I knew that a lot of people loved Cloud and his crappy haircut with a giant kitchen knife. Or is it just that Texas sucks?
--------------- Edit: Ugh, I got off track anyway I dont like the PS2 since I think its overhyped. All I hear is just about Grand Theft Auto, and I could give a rats ass about it. And as for the X Box, Microsoft still hasnt won me over with their Windows platform, but since I have no cheap alternative, I'm stuck with this. Not to mention there hasnt been one title on the Box that appealed to me.

Ergheiz is known by all to be one of the worst games ever. No need to comment on that game. Everyone knows it sucks.
As for RPGs though, you have to understand that they were different back in the old days. In the old days, only the geeks played them, and they were much better on average than the modern day Square games. Square went right downhill though after the SNES era. They took RPGs mainstream with FF7, and then it became totally different after that. Square lost a lot of love from fans who had stayed by their side for years when their games started to suck.
If all you see is Squaresoft when you think of RPGs though, you are seriously missing out. Some of my favorite RPGs ever have been made fairly recently, and they were most certainly NOT made by Square. Sega Overworks made the AMAZING Skies of Arcadia (for GCN nonetheless), and Monolith made the fantastic Xenogears/Xenosaga games which are simply astounding.
If you will check the link to the list of games which I legally own, you will see a single exception on that list. I am a loyal Nintendo fanboy. I consider it a crime against humanity to buy a game or console from a rival of Nintendo. The single "different" game on that list is the exception I made. It was simply too good to pass up. I hated myself for doing it, but my love for the game was too strong.
Anyways, I just wanted to say that while modern day Square is SERIOUSLY overhyped, it doesn't mean that the oldschool Square is bad, or that all RPGs are bad. Hell, even some modern Square games can be enjoyable, but I recognize them more as what they could have been rather than what they are. They are a mere shadow of their former glory.

Being one who hasn't played the pre-3d Final Fantasy games, I think Square's more recent additions are not that bad. With the exception of VIII, Squaresoft has yet to disappoint, for FFVII, FFIX and FFX were superior games imo. True, VII had plot holes, IX had a rather disturbing cast of characters, and X abandoned a lot of the old FF features (no navigatable airship, instead you select a destination and you're there)...but my point is for a company that's definitely at risk of taking the easy route and marketing towards casual gamers, Squaresoft (or Square-Enix I should say) still makes tough rpg games...ones that require lots of patience by the gamer.
Whoo, sorry for that off-topic post. To avoid any further tangent-making, I'll just say that I think it greatly benefited Squaresoft (financially-speaking) to leave Nintendo in the N64/PSX generation. But for Nintendo fanboys, it meant a lack of additional Mario RPGs.

I disagree.
Final Fantasy VII was quite a good game. It lost much of the Final Fantasy feel that had existed in the pre-PSX era, but it was still a good game.
FF8 took it one step further. The game sucked. We can both agree on that.
FF9 was a good try. I will give them that. They combined the old art style with the old gameplay. The problem was that the characters were flat and insipid, and the story was more boring than Wuthering Heights.
FFX to be perfectly honest, I have not played, but I will say that it has the most god-awful voice acting ever, and any trace of Final Fantasy in the franchise has been lost with the game from what I know of it. Crystal Chronicles is more of a traditional Final Fantasy than Final Fantasy X.
Final Fantasy XI is also a disgrace. It's Japanese sales speak volumes about my own opinion of the game. It's the game I never wanted to see made come to life.
Final Fantasy Tactics was a freaking work of art.
Vagrant Story was a work of art. Square canned the development team right afterwards though IIRC.
Chrono Cross sucked ass. It was a complete disgrace to have the word Chrono in the title. The characters sucked, and the plot wasn't right. The game was decidedly mediocre.
Legend of Mana destroyed the good name of the Seiken Densetsu franchise. That game was horrible in just about ever way.
Parasite Eve was a work of art. Square made up for that one though, by making the second one positively sucktacular.
The only good things I have to say about Square right now are these:
Final Fantasy XII - Quest is making the game I hear. VERY good decision on Square's part. The Final Fantasy team can no longer be trusted to make a good game. They should just continue to make sequels to Final Fantasy X until people figure out that the franchise has been beaten to death years ago. Then they can fire everyone responsible for that disgrace.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles - The old artwork, and gameplay straight out of Seiken Densetsu. This game could be very very good.
Square/Enix merger - Enix kicks ass, and they haven't lost their talent. Hopefully they can give Square a firm kick in the backside for me.
Seiken Densetsu GBA - A remake of the first game is a good step in the right direction to recover the memory of Seiken Densetsu. It forces the team to relearn what Seiken Densetsu means, and hopefully the next real sequel will be fantastic.
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - A sequel to the greatest Final Fantasy Gaiden that DOESN'T suck? I am all over that.

How could you forget Front Mission 3? Great game. An excellent game not for the teen angus and somewhat sterotypical charaters. Two plots for replay value.
Previous Front Missions sucked ass. 3 is a slick package. Needs bigger battles and some what longer odds. The random spell like effects was a nice touch. I another one came out on the cube I would so get it. It would be the only Square game I would ever buy.
Love twinking those ¨uber wanzers.

Sorry, the only Front Mission I played was Front Mission 1. It was pretty cool IMO, but it got repetitive after a while. There wasn't enough variation in the gameplay.
I should have mention SaGa too I suppose, but I never liked SaGa much, even on the GB.

Lol, you're right Grey Ninja. I've just been spoiled by all the pretty FMV's.
I actually think it's high time that the videogame industry goes through a revolution or whatnot. Companies like Square, EA, they've gotten way too big to be able to go back to old philosophies in game-making. Now it's license this, license that...simply little to no creativity.
It's not just Squaresoft that needs to fire some people. It's the whole freaking industry.
...What was the original topic again?

I'm not an RPG guy, so I have no real opinion. My two friends like them though, so I've seen almost all of the final fantasies. The 2-D ones looked good, and as for 3-D: FF7 looked good, 8 looked less good, 9 I saw nothing of, but it looked like a potential failure, 10 was pretty good, from what I saw, but there have been better, I'm sure. 11 looks horrible. I've heard nothing of 12, but Crystal Chronicles looks like it could be very good.

I've played it by now, and it is an awesome game. The noodles, the corny raps, the graphics. . . it all comes together to make this wonderful gaming experience. It's an awesome game. I'd buy a PS2 just for Sly Cooper and this game, but my friends already has one with both of them, so I'll pass. Highly recommended. And Sly Cooper, too. Miss Ruby rocks.

The game that has sold my soul to Nintendo was Super Mario Bros. 3. That was such a good game.
BTW I love this topic, the Wind Waker loyal fan quotes (yeah that was cool of Ninty), the metamorphosis and the reasons of loving Nintendo more than any other company.
Although I'm just 18 (I can't believe most of you are about my age), I see a lot of nice people around here comparing to other forums, although some of them are a little perverted (you heard me)

FOX McLOUD
Your not alone man, I'm the respectable type of fanboy. I won't dismiss a game just because it's on another system. Such as Final Fanasy VII, I loved that game. I also loved Crash Racing. Let' see, something for X-Box, something for X-box. Well since I've never played an X-Box game I'll have to base it on pictures. DOA X-TREME BEACH VOLLEYBALL COMES TO MIND!!!!

I used to be a nintendo fanboy, until nintendo started sucking ass. Turning zelda into that kiddie abomination for one. I see some good games on the horizon but can't say I feel very good about nintendo these days. Especially since sports games keep getting cancelled and video stores seem to want to carry as little gc stuff as possible. Also am tired of nintendo's refusal to make more adult games. Think I'm gonna have to go ps3 and gc2 (or whatever their next console will be called) next time around.

Oh and I know how y'all feel I was so friggin disappointed when I saw the Wind Waker graphics, I almost cryed But graphics don't make the game, highly technical designers make the graphics. I played it at Walmart and the cartoony look was quite fun, especially the way he shifts his eyes, it's very relealistic for horrible graphics. I it's very fun to play, and it's MUCH better than Majora's Mask, that was a complete failur COMPARED to Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker, even Link to the Past was better than MM.
