How is the size limit going to work on this one?

Good question...because unless this is a one-town game, it's going to take up a lot of space...
I'm also just a little disappointed that the first WiiWare titles announced are all exisiting product tie-ins like this and (apparently) Dr. Mario.  Where are the original concepts by developers with a good idea and not a lot of money?

Nintendo's big secret is that the game will be streaming and its steady at 30fps too.
No HDD or SD card loading support needed.

I think a game like this could be done in like 200mb. You have to remember Animal Crossing could be ran entirely off Gamecubes memory, if you took the game out it would continue to run. This has better graphics, but with new compression technology and graphical effects you can make a very simple game look really good. Ocarina of time is only 32mb, if ocarina of time had a leap in texture mapping and character design, and effects it wouldnt look that different then this. It can be done!

I looks incredibly lame, until I realize this is a WiiWare game. It's actually pretty impressive. I wonder how long is this little quest going to last? Obviously we won't see any CG movies (which is fine by me), but they can do tons of realtime stuff. Maybe a 30 hours quest to make it sweeter?

I wouldn't expect something so lavish considering it's a Sim/RPG...I predict you won't even leave the town...

Not really sure...All I know from what I could make out in the conference is that it's a Simulation/RPG, and in this one scene you see the "Young King" building a house...

This is why Wii needed an HDD to begin with.

I hope Nintendo has some storage solutions ready.

Well Sd cards are getting huge, but it seems as though their incompatible wit the Wii, on the otherhand now that nintendo is number 1 if it released a $60 HDD then everyone would by it. I say the limit to a game size should be like 640 mb, or just more than half a 1gb sd card, equal to a cd, and like the most anyone would ever be willing to download. You could have 1 or 2 big games per sd-card and thats it. You could either buy more sd-cards, or if they do offer an hdd solution, than only that audience should buy one.

While I am pleased with Nintendo's announcements and games shown, this is getting frustrating that they haven't expanded the Wii's storage through an External HDD, heck they haven't even expanded it to SD cards.

Nintendo making you delete and redownload your virtual console games one day at a time.

Miyamoto did say, somewhere, that he wanted to fix the wii memory problems and since they didn't announce anything at this conference I have a feeling they will soon (wiiware channel release). whether it's seamless SD card integration or a HDD. I believe, if anything, it will be the first.

What does the game looking lame have anything to do with self esteem? Unless you're talking about your own self esteem.

I has everything to do with grammer.

Okay, sorry, this is something that I see all the time and I've reached a breaking point. If you're going to criticize someone's grammar, you should probably spell the word "grammar" correctly. It's "grammar" not "grammer"!

Kairon's catbus brings this stuff out of people, which is why it should be BANNED.

I also love how Kairon can't tell the difference between a typo from grammatical error.

C-c-c-combo breaker!

On a more serious note, the Wii has a USB port. Why not just use than to provide a storage add-on. Even a simple little tiny flash stick memory things could hold 16 GB.

Ah, but can we boot from storage? That's the question... how much space can Wiiware games take up: the question is about actually running the game as much as it is about storing it.

I don't see this as a problem with a software update, perhaps someone knows more about this, but I see no reason why Nintendo can't have stuff boot from storage like the 360 or PS3's external HDDs.

I would think it could be made possible with a firmware update. And if you couldn't boot off anything but the internal memory couldn't they rig up some kind of Windows Shortcut/OS X Alias thing where you boot from a small file stored in the internal memory that upon starting up tells the Wii to access the data on a USB drive or SD card?

Why are we excited about a Crystal Chronicles game when the first one was terrible?

EDIT: And this one looks like a boring version of SimCity.

Cause it looks like they're just using the CC name to mean "released on a Nintendo console", the games don't look very related.

I'll judge it when it's out, and not a second before. Besides, I can't read Japanese.

my hope is that the DS, Wii and this VMWare game all talk to each other in some form of awesomeness.

like you put them together in a force of three, a tri-force, if you will, which can then be used to defeat the darkness.

or bordem

Then Square will be no more.
