Title: Mario Baseball
Post by: bustin98 on October 09, 2007, 05:54:12 PM
And some other stuff:

Conference in Japan

More Wii Ware titles: Star Soldier R and Dr Mario. And a Pokemon Rancher to transfer from the DS games.

Fire Emblem on the DS.

Now it looks like a DS demo station as a Wii channel.

And an enhanced Wii Vote channel. Recommend games.

Wow! Motorcycles in Kart? ok that's pretty cool but it should be called Mario Racing or something haha.

Awesome price point for Wiifit indeed Bill! If that sticks for a world wide release 7 million will probably be sold no problem.

does the Japanese release of Smash being delayed mean the North American release will be delayed as well?

Didn't Kojima say Nintendo could release Smash Bros at any time now? Supossedly its delayed to give room for WiiFit.

Ironic that the actual Meg@ton sneaks up on us like this while we hype all the rest of the non-conferences.

EDIT: If Smash Bros is delayed then I was right all along. I didn't think they would release Galaxy and Brawl only a month apart - the Wii would still be sold out even if one of those games didn't appear on the holiday list. Plus WiiFit. That would be a waste of system-selling potential.

Well the title, scenario, staff, and even the GENRE (which is Simulation/RPG) are completely different...

(I also posted the website at the top of the page...)
Title: RE: Japanese Retailer Conference
Post by: Kairon on October 09, 2007, 07:43:49 PM
Well, if the staff are different, then I guess it's safe to assume that they completely retooled Crystal bearers.

Even if they use the GC engine, how can they expect the game to work on WiiWare?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? GC discs held 1.5 GBs of information, Even on a brand new Wii, you really have more like 256 MBs to work with...

Something is not right here, most of those don't look like PS2 games...  except that Koei game

Now for a couple of comments:
Does anyone know what the 2nd Capcom game is, the on with the guy with the giant sword standing on a mountain with his back to the screen?

Sega really improved the character models in that light gun shooter of theirs, no they just more variation in character stances and they are good to go.

The girls in the Hudsonsoft games have absolutely no ass whatsoever, and that just doesn't look right

What is the 1st game made by NBGI(it looks really good), but why does their 2nd game look like an N64 game and the 3rd looks like a PS2 game?

The ground textures in Mario Baseball look really good.

So overall there looks like there is hope for the Wii yet, and that page has a whole bunch of games I would buy should I have the money when the time comes.
Keep Hype Alive

"Does anyone know what the 2nd Capcom game is, the on with the guy with the giant sword standing on a mountain with his back to the screen?"

That was the sales megaton of the conference, Monster Hunter 3...

"What is the 1st game made by NBGI(it looks really good), but why does their 2nd game look like an N64 game and the 3rd looks like a PS2 game?"

Namco's games, in order: Soul Calibur Legends, Family Trainer Athletic World, Tales of Symphonia: Knights of Ratatosk

More Mario Kart screens I yanked from the conference vid:

Both of these showcase the stunt mechanic...Do tricks to get boosts!

Boo is once again a playable character...(I want my Boo item... )

Mario's 'cycle!

I think that's devil kings 2? Abrawler action game, if I had to guess.

Oh, I was looking at the wrong game. Yeah, Bill's right, that's MH3 for the Wii.

Is that Namco Bandai? That first game would be Soul Calibur Legends, the second game would be their wii balance board game, where you tilt left or right or forward... the last would be Tales of Symphonia Knights of Ratatosk?

FFIV, is that one that never made it out in the U.S.?
I remember FFI FFII and FFIII(FFVI japan), but I'm not sure if FFIII(jp) FFIV(jp) & FFV(jp) were ever released over here.
Or was FFII really FFIV(jp)?

Some screen shots have anti-ailising, while others don't. Is it just the method of screen capture, or is it just a matter of being implemented on some games and not others? Anyone have any theories?

I thought it was also notable that 51% of Wii owners and 53% of DS owners are female. (It isn't clear to me whether that's in Japan or worldwide.)

Of course, few people besides me are interested in these numbers when new games have been released, but still... that's interesting. It helps make it a little more clear why the types of available games for the systems are changing.

Speaking of new games + females... did anybody else notice that Rune Factory 2 screenshots were revealed?

Screen capture method + picture resizing preceding publishing.  Anti-aliasing is not to be believed.
