OMG OMG OMG, that's only one week away. This means we'll finally see who all the starting characters will be not to mention see the game in action.
To bad in a part of the country far away from the event. If only there was someway to get there because I'd do anything.

What I am hoping for most is level revelations, items, and details on how assist trophies truly effect the game, and how Final Smashes truly effect the game.

Edit: At this point it's safe(er?) to say that a classic character from the previous Smash games will be unveiled, or so I am told.

Can they top it? Easily, I'd say. Pick a beloved, classic character who isn't named Sonic the Hedgehog. A few worthy of mention:
1. Mega Man is an easy choice
2. Belmont. Here's a character no one expects since he's a Konami IP, but most can agree he deserves mention. I think a Belmont would be off the f*cking chain, but then again, I'm a Castlevania whore.
3. Cloud. I won't get into it, but the faces of fans/haters all over the world would instantly melt off.
4. Ryu (Street Fighter). I wouldn't want him before Mega Man, but he'd surprise everyone.
Thing is there are tons of memorable and popular characters to choose from and who wouldn't want their character in this game? And every gamer has a favorite.
If they stick to the supposed 2-3 3rd party characters limit (which I don't believe) and assuming there's a 3rd, I'd bet on it being Mega Man. And my guess is that he'll be shown sooner than later.

Sakurai said "1-2 more third parties at most" back when Snake got revealed. So there's no guarantee of a third, unless he clarified later.
I'm not honestly holding my breath for a third one at this point though.

This is interesting. He stated 1-2 more third party characters, but then interviews afterwards had several key Nintendo representives saying they were not contacted by Sega to include Sonic in Brawl...and the third parties must contact them was kinda implied.
So does that mean Sakurai wasn't including Sonic in that list? I would assume so. Specially, since he also made it sound in the update that Sonic was kinda a recent addition to the series and he is working hard to balance him into the game.
I believe we will see 1 or 2 more 3rd party characters still. One better be Mega Man, because I want some super Mega Man action, and it would be nice to have another range dominant character besides Samus.
Also, I still believe Bomberman can make a great Brawl combatant.
