Title: Nintendo World Report WI-FI tournaments Pre-game (Rules, Dates/Times, and set up
Post by: stevey on October 07, 2007, 11:46:54 AM
Instead of waiting on Crimm, I'm going ahead and starting this thread now to pool ideas......
I need everyone to post when (what day of the week/ time of day) they think it will be best to start tournaments on (Friday 3am EST, Sunday 11pm EST, etc)
The time Frame for each Tournament is
To vote on which game to play a week before a Tournament
Open Sign up till a days or two before
2-1 day(s) before get the game ready by post friend codes list, make teams, and setting up matches of who play who, etc
and have the tournament
The basic rules are
A host (Me, Crimm, or a volunteer*) run each game
Players signed up and play
Player can get ban from game if they Disconnecting, snaking, whine, or cheat
Extra rule depending on game and my boredom level
Also Losers are forever shamed
If a mod loses, (s)he must bring back the HAWTNESS thread
And if you lag up the game you lose!
Team are tricky to have so they mainly will be used on games that let you pick who among your friends and for the other games without it, the teams Matches with happen by timing of match up using NWR Chat (http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/chat.cfm)
Teams will be pick by the top 2-4 players based on the leader board. They will be the captains, and they will pick people one by one (if its odd then they argue why none of the want Mashiro on their team)
If there is <50 play joined than no or two teams
If there is over 50 people sign up than most likely there will be (At lease) 2-3 teams
Over a 100 = 4-5+ teams
Over 200 I die of a heart attack
Life time Leader Board of winners/loser/ties/Cheat/and loser who miss matches is a must. It will be updated with team info too, but team games will be counted differently
The list of Games to pick from so far will be
Zelda Phantom Hourglass
Mario Strikers
Super Smash Bro Brawl: 4VS free for all, With items*
Super Smash Bro Brawl: Custom Stage mayhem :evil;
Super Smash Bro Brawl: 1VS1, No items, Final Destination**
Mario Kart wii*
BWii
Guitar Hero
Mario Kart DS
StarFox Command
Metroid Hunters
Tetris DS
*not ready yet
** never happening
Feel free to add to, remove, or bitch about this set up now while you can
(The first tournament will starts sometime this year) More updates coming soon

This thread is literally a sham. The group is being talked about in the funhouse. Look up the topic "Re: Newer Waffle."
All Wi-Fi games available to participating players will be used, I know that.

If anything your threads are a sham, also "Never Waffle" a dumb name.
Quote and no Pokemon? Besides that how are you guys gonna keep records and such?
There is going to be a single Megathread with a leader board that will list everyone names and next to them, the # of wins/loses/ties/team victories/MVP/cheat. A 2nd list under that one will list all of the teams and victories of the teams (also will have the names of everyone in that team). Team battle(My tournament at lease) are won by points instead of who had a member make it all the way to make it fairer. Every 1st place win in a 4 player game in worth 2 point, 2nd 1 point and 3rd/4th get kick out of the tournament. The person who win the whole tournament get the MVP award and 10 points for his team. This way if a whole team suck horribly but has 1 unstoppable player they still lose tournament, team wins should be won base on the teamwork and not who got the best player. (think electoral college but good)

I think we should try to designate a "game day" if you will
one time each week that we all try to log on and play with our friends, in all games
the whole trying to create and control a tournament I think may not work
