Title: Free Wii Anti-Slip Jackets
Post by: Nick DiMola on October 02, 2007, 12:44:38 AM
Nintendo is officially providing Wii owners with antislip gloves in a similar fashion to the Wii-Strap replacement. If you go here you can input your Wii serial number and request up to 4 remote jackets, which will be shipped to you for free starting October 15!

They have to be the lamest Wiimote covers I've ever seen, and I'm counting the tie-dye ones in that statement.

They look really stupid. They also would be a huge pain in the ass for using my Nyko Charge Station. Who are these people that sweat so much they're dropping the Wiimote? Turn on the A/C or wear a wrist band or something. I've never dropped my Wiimote.

NYKO sucks...
Anywhoo, these are supposedly designed to be pretty easy to slip on and off... This way, you can put your controller into the Zapper/Guitar/Steering wheel easier...

They may be the ugliest, but they're also the free-est too. How can you guys argue with free??

Well I have a lot of experience slipping plastic guards on and off Wiimote shaped things.

Anyway, sure, they're ugly, but they're free. I don't see how this is a bad thing.

I wish someone would find a way to sue them so bad that they could only get out of it by offering demo discs/channels

~$20million spent on these yet Brawl still uses friend codes and includes a worthless 3rd party character.
Right.

To anybody with big hands... take advantage of this offer. I just bought my Wii on friday, so it came with the jacket, and the controller is much more comfortable with the jacket on. I can reach all the buttons easier withought have to grip the controller as tightly. Very ergonomic, and not as ugly as you guys say it is.

I screwed this up. I was able to input my serial number, but when I got to the screen where I input my address, the form didn't appear. I think it's because I was using Safari. Then, I try to use Firefox, but it said my serial number had already been used. Damn.

Huh. I was apathetic about this and too lazy to dig up the Serial Number, but I just ordered them after reading this post. Thanks
Also, welcome to NWR!

Try again after 24 hours. If you don't complete the order, it'll get purged.

I forgot to mention that I got these bad boys in and I can say with much confidence that these things ROCK! They are very comfortable on the hands and definitely eliminate the worry of slip. They fit on the Wii remote perfectly and are definitely well made. I applaud Nintendo for these things, they did a great job with them and I am glad to have them on my Wii remotes.

I received an email yesterday informing me my jackets have shipped. I imagine I'll receive them before the end of the week.
Its really cool of Nintendo to give these out for free, but I suppose their actual cost couldn't be very much anyway.

BigJim is right. I tried to order them a few weeks ago and my computer froze as I was sending my info. After I restarted my computer and tried again, it said that my seriel number has been used. After not receiving the jackets, I tried again yesterday and it worked.
Does anyone know how I can get the latest wriststraps? I already got the 1st revision from Nintendo, but I want the wriststraps that have the lock because they r teh best.

I ordered 2 of the first kind and then got 2 of the lock kind from the same form. You can place multiple orders through the form, you'll get the most up-to-date kind each time, but you can only get a total of 4 per Wii Serial Number.

It even has a subtle groove around the outline of the power button.
I haven't played a game with them yet, but I like how these gloves are built. They are easy to install/remove and you don't have to fully remove them to replace the batteries. Buttons are still easy to press.

I got mine in the mail today and I think they are awesome. Very soft but provides a strong grip on the controller. I love the top of it. Its bulky but it adds protection and feels great when you are playing the controller in classic mode. It was very easy to slip the controller into it and very easy to take it out. Kudos on adding a cover for the nun chuck port for when you are not using it.
Best of all, it was free!

Did you get a confirmation email that they shipped it? I got an email about a week before my jackets arrived. I think you should have also.
If you didn't then maybe your order didn't go through or something, or maybe they ran out of supply.

Got mine on Friday. The fit is great and I like them a lot after using 'em for a couple of hours. However, I found the added weight to be more noticeable than I thought it would be.
