Title: Pretty girls wearing t-shirts
Post by: Svevan on September 26, 2007, 11:43:40 AM
Hey, you know what? Go to hell. Of course sarcastic tees look good on a pretty girl - who buys these? Slightly chubby, average looking, or scrawny game nerds who think catchphrases are funny. Nevermind that the selection of MEN you have on your website all work out daily (despite never having to actually use their muscle), get $200 haircuts, and try as hard as possible to look like they don't give a damn about the content of their t-shirt or their appearance. PEOPLE WHO BUY THIS SHlT DON'T LOOK LIKE THAT. You're selling crap that will make the world WORSE because every geek will buy it and think it's clever (and maybe even think they look good). Get real - t-shirt slogans aren't clever, unless you're beautiful, because then it's ironic that you would debase yourself by wearing something so dumb.

I think some t-shirts with slogans are quite funny.

But those T-Shirts are so cheap to make. I'm sure there's a business niche and a need out there that this company is serving, otherwise the economic relaities would be more like you Svevan.

I bet Evan would buy a "You are ignorant" or "E=MC squared dummy".

"Not all dreams come true."
Generally I don't wear slogan t-shirts, and I'm not interested in buying t-shirts at all (they're too easy to get for free). But I do like seeing these cute girls on the site. They are beautiful but not skanky.

I definitely agree with Jonny on this one. Besides, probably about a quarter to a half of the girls around here look like that anyways. They don't wear the I <3 Lamp shirts, though. That would just be awesome.

More ads to block.

I miss the skanky ads. They were funnier than most of those recycled catch-phrases. Anchorman and Napoleon Dynamite quotes? Really? Talk about timely and relevant.

Who's worse--the organization that sells the crap or the organization that advertises the crap on their website?

Wait... there are ads?
Seriously, I started blocking ads as soon as there started to be sound. Don't want it, don't need it. I'd rather support the site and view/click the occasional ad, but unauthorized sounds just don't cut it for me...

I would wear the two on the left, but Snorg can keep all the t-shirts. we won't be needing those.

They're all wearable, a few just might fit more snugly than the others.

Bill is just jealous that Alice the Snorg model makes a better cute, young girl than he does.

Actually, the current Mate1 ad doesn't have a women in various states of undress.
I just got this one a few minutes ago. I'm thinking Botswana.
edit: forgot to point out, the ad spelled Botswana wrong.

If I got jealous over every person I thought was cuter than me, I'd be in some serious trouble! =)

I've basically accepted the fact that sex sells and that no force on earth will stop ad companies from using it.
However, ads that attempt to target male desire are, IMHO, like attempting to exploit a weakness. Same goes for the dating ads on myspace my gf showed me which aim at female members which, instead of saying "find skankity skank skank skanks in your area", say "find doctors in your area" or "find rich guys in your area".
It's like punching a cut in boxing: it should only piss you off.

I should also add that these girls are infinitely better than the "there's a hot piece of photoshopped ass waiting for YOU!" ads that True would always run.
