Title: Oneechanbara R and Simple 2000 come to Wii
Post by: couchmonkey on September 24, 2007, 09:02:13 AM
I've heard a lot of reports that TGS was all about Nintendo, but somehow, hearing Chris K at Wired mention that the Simple series of budget games is coming to Wii makes it official: Nintendo has won Japan.
For the uninitiated, Simple 2000 is a series of very low-budget games for PS2 that Infernal Monkey seems to blog about a lot. I don't know if we'll ever see these in North America, but maybe PAL will get them. Not sure I'd want to play them anyway.

Well we've already known about the Simple series as a whole coming to Wii for a while now...Simple Kart Racing and Simple Fishing are the first ones...

I think the only reason the PS2 Simple games didn't reach the US was SCEA's rejection policies.
Also I want to see Earth Defense Force Wii.

If we ever get that game, I'll pick it up, if only because you seem to like it so much.

Unless they screw it up somehow that's what you should do. Giant alien insects by the dozen, powerful guns, destroyable cities, coop, what more do you want?

Very exciting news, I got eight erections! That was before I read this other news about the Simple Series coming to Wii! A sequel to Zombie vs Ambulance is CRUCIAL (I'll start putting these reviews back in my gurnal, promise )

Yep, there's 25 of them on DS so far!
Quote Well we've already known about the Simple series as a whole coming to Wii for a while now...Simple Kart Racing and Simple Fishing are the first ones...
Then there's hmmm (hmm!)
Simple Wii Series Vol. 3: The Party Kanji (because it's just not a party without Kanji) Simple Wii Series Vol. 4: The Shooting Action (I... don't know, this could be PS2 ports of.. old Taito.. 2D shooters?) Simple Wii Series Vol. 5: The Block Kuzushi (OH NO BLOCK AND BALL SMASHING STINK) Simple Wii Series Vol. 6: The Wai Wai Combat (lol?)
Quote Also I want to see Earth Defense Force Wii.
Yes!
Also the kart game supports Mii's.. but not in the way you'd think. They seem to just appear on screen to block your view when you're going the wrong way or something. Both the kart and fishing games have their own unique player creation tool to make extremely cutesy anime characters.

HERE COME NEW CHALLENGERS.
Vol. 3: The Casino Party (The Las Vegas Costume Party)
Four player onrine.
Vol. 4: The Shooting Action (The Game That Certainly Isn't Geometry Wars)
Two player onrine. I don't think even Geometry Wars Galaxies supports onrine gameplay for Wii (just leaderboards). D3 > Kuju.

That's not Geometry Wars, that's one of those duel shmups that are all the rage with indie devs now. Think of it like a fighting game with bullets (that's not like Immaterial and Missing Power), you can shoot different patterns and weapons and have to KO your opponent. From the looks of it this one allows manual aiming instead of just shooting at the enemy's current position.
Also the description on the d3p website mentions 4 players (maybe only locally).
There's also pics with enemies but I think those are two different modes, 2 player coop and 4 player FFA.

Probably. Perhaps it's 4 player online. I don't think we'll ever know unless either some publisher picks it up (unlikely) or a wii region crack is made (likely).
