Title: New to The Cube...
Post by: Neonimous on March 24, 2003, 02:47:59 PM
Just got a Gamecube two days ago, and would like to agree that it is a very high quality system. Picked up Metroid Prime when I got my Cube and I've rented a couple others, but I have to say that the GC really has a prominent future in the gaming biz..Thanx

Try Pikmin, it's an awesome game. Some people said it was too short and while I would've liked to see it be a little longer, I still found it pretty long and challenging. I found myself retrying the last world over and over and over (but I did completely beat the game the first time through). It's very unique and I could go on for quite a while about how great it is, but I won't. You should definitely give it at least a rent though.

glad to hear more people are taking advantage of the free game offer. i think they should add zelda to the list of free games to pick in like a month, that should boost sales some more. theres lots of great games out there to try out neo, eternal darkness immediately comes to mind and hopefully zelda will have a similar impression on me. you should check out both of them

Yeah one of the games I rented was Eternal Darkness, as well as Resident Evil and SSBM. I probably will try Pikmin, for the idea behind the game sounds unique and intruiging. Yeah, I had heard about the Mario package for GC but never got it, cause I was born a Sega baby and was never really into Mario (more Sonic) , but when I saw the add for the gamecube and free game outta the ones shown I then decided that it was time to try the little purple box. I dont know when I'll get to Zelda, just to the fact that I dont know when any stores around here will have it, and the reserve list to just rent it is extremely long.
But other than a Gamecube, I also have the PS2 and Xbox. I'm not rich, just have a job and like blowing my cash on the latest technology. So I have a pretty good grasp on good games or not, and even though I'd like to see more third party games for the GC I really have to say that the GC has more of the better games on the market right now.

Definitely get Super Smash Brothers Melee. If you have any sense of good in your heart, you will love it. I'm talking "a-man-holds-a-gun-to-your-head-and-you'd-rather-die-than-say-you-hate-SSBM" love. It's awesome.
Other games? Super Mario Sunshine, Animal Crossing, Resident Evil series, Pikmin, and many others. If you have questions about a game, ask and we will tell you of its quality.

people rent zelda games? to me that's kind of like renting a pizza (i'll have it to you by friday!). but i guess some people are gonna do it. i'm having my mom pick it up tomorrow, since she's gotta do other stuff at the mall too. i just hope she doesn't take too long (but she will). she won't even leave to the mall until 10:00 AM. i keep trying to get her to leave at 7:00. so she'll have it home when i wake up. god, i'm not gonna be able to sleep tonight. this is my 11th christmas all over again.
