Title: Metroid Prime 3
Post by: vudu on August 29, 2007, 01:46:50 PM
As always, I'm avoiding all spoilers with this game, so I dare not go into the Metroid Prime 3 thread. Can anyone tell me if there are any one-time items and/or scans (besides bosses) that I need to be on the lookout for? I'm a completionist, and I want to make sure I don't miss anything.

Halfway through the third planet, I haven't come across any...At least, not that I know of...The thing is, on a first run-through, you really have no idea whether or not you've gotten everything until the very end... ='D

Bryyo: Clifside - Hidden Court
How do you get this fuel cell?
It is the final one that I need, I see what I think is it in the room, but I can't get to it?
Please help!

MLS
get your ship to drag the gigantic battery from one of the big rooms that had you destroy the anti-air Shield Defense Cannon via yanking those locks to reveal the fuel cells.
Start by landing in Bryyo: Thorn Jungle Airdock, and make a left at the fork.

Watch out for the Shriekbats. There are some of these hard-to-scan creatures in every major area, I believe, but the ones in the Pirate Homeworld don't come back after a while.

How do I re-energize Tower B in Norion? I beat the Metroid Hatcher, took the power cell and ran off. I explored again and again, but have not found anything that can be interacted with.

You don't. You have the fuel cell. You're done. The point of reenergizing was to power the defense canon earlier in the game -- that is no longer an issue.

There are no one time items. There are several one time scans. I missed one of the Space Pirate variants myself, on the third planet.

Great, now I'm going to go crazy scanning things. When I beat the game, I hope to do a no-scan play-through. Personally, my least favorite thing to do is all the scanning. To me, it takes away from the atmosphere to have to stop in the middle of what you're doing, scan an enemy, and then go back to killing. I do like it for hints on the area, though. I guess in a way, I'd like it to be more like the X-Ray Scope from Super Metroid.
Well, can someone tell me what all the scans unlock? Or portions of scans? Are they for those points you can spend on bonus material?

Scans kind of suck, but they are made tolerable with the Wii controls, in my opinion. I don't think getting all the scans unlocks anything. Some scans give you tokens, but that's all, I think.

Creature scans unlock red tokens, lore scans unlock blue tokens.

The small amount of activity here is evidence of how dumbed-down the series has become.

Or people have learned to go to GameFaqs...

I'm on my second play through and I found a few one time scan in the first level:Ghor while he is going into the BioScaner (it counts differently than his scan as a boss for some reason?) and the general guy only can be scan early in the game

You can scan Ghor when you run into him on Norion...

I think there are three sets of bounty hunter scans- the GF lore scans, the scans as GF creatures, and the scans as Pirate creatures (boss fights).

Beat the game, I'm still having a surreal moment. Aurora 313= Mother Brain? Beat it on the first try? WTF?
I haven't bothered using my tokens until now. I have 15 MP3 credits to give away, so if you want some, or want to help a brotha out, my Wii code is in the sig. Limit 3:3 per person. PM if you add me.
