DID YOU KNOW? NINTENDO'S 'MONTH OF METROID' BUILDS TO AWAITED METROID PRIME 3: CORRUPTION LAUNCH

Last week, Wii™ owners who have their systems connected to WiiConnect24™ were greeted by an ethereal blue glow alerting them Nintendo's Month of Metroid had begun. The WiiWare™ section of the Wii Shop Channel now contains the Metroid Prime 3 Preview, allowing Wii owners to view exclusive videos for the anticipated Metroid® Prime 3: Corruption game launching Aug. 27.

It's a whole Month of Metroid, so fans should continue to check the Metroid Prime 3 Preview for updates. To view, Wii owners must first upgrade their Wii systems to Version 3 by clicking on Wii System Update in Wii System Settings.

Metroid series fans also will find two classic games for download in the Virtual Console™ section of the Wii Shop Channel. The original Metroid® for the Nintendo Entertainment System® became available Aug. 13, while Super Metroid® for the Super NES® will be available Aug. 20. Just use Wii Points™ to download the games. Metroid and Super Metroid are rated E for Everyone.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption features amazing first-person controls, and takes advantage of the intuitive, motion-sensitive Wii Remote™ and Nunchuk™ controllers. This incomparable installment concludes the trilogy's storyline while introducing new puzzles, bigger adventures and more intense battles.

Media rave about Metroid Prime 3: Corruption's game play and revolutionary controls. Chris Kohler of Wired.com even calls it "a brilliantly designed game, with perfected Wii motion controls," while GameSpot.com's Brian Ekberg hails it as "...an intense and challenging game, one that isn't skimping when it comes to making the most of the Wii's various control possibilities."

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is rated T for Teen. For more information about the Month of Metroid, please visit www.Metroid.com.

Such an unbelievable amount of hype for this game!

I am overwhelmed by the intense marketing!

I don't remember seeing this sort of hype for a 1st party game in a loooong time. Even Super Mario Sunshine didn't get this kind of attention. I'm in a bad situation, though, because I might not be able to afford MP3 on launch day. I'm saving my credit for the new slimline PSP (due out in September) and painting my new house drained my bank account. And yet I must play it!

And why would you want the PSP slim?

Ah, it's nice to see these neat little trailers that offer a taste from the game. Love the story bits too!

. . . well, maybe he likes the game, the system, and the system's games? Also, maybe he has the cash to spare and no opportunity cost worries.

no need to, the owners-to-be will do it themselves when faced with that INCREDIBLE battery life...

Hmm, I think TP had some of it's thunder stolen by the Wii despite being a launch title? This is a first for Nintendo I think to be having these trailers rolling out on a periodic basis.

Ah hahaha. Indeed. And the 3200 mAH battery pack (double the regular 1800) costs a pretty penny. Don't see the DS needing a pricier juice bottle just to last a long jog on low maintenance.
Though, I guess it isn't too much of a hurt for those that like to plug a device in everynight as a routine.

Wow, has HYPE for MP3 really been so effective that they had to remind gamers that the game was still coming out as if everyone had already forgotten.

Don't worry Nintendo, I will buy MP3, but you have to remind me again after Christmas. All my monies goto SMG & SSBB (and a very small selection of 3rd party games too )
