Title: Duke Nukem Forever: Best Game Ever or Hell on Earth? We Report, You Decide...
Post by: UncleBob on July 28, 2007, 02:57:45 AM
So... When DNF *finally* comes out, will it be the absolute best game ever made - so good that the Earth will simply explode from its goodness, or will it be the absolute worst piece of trash software ever, sucking so bad that it causes the Earth (and this part of the universe) to implode on itself?

This topic lacks a third option:
"...or will it never come out?"

You know there's a reason it abbreviates to DNF....

What if it's the most average game ever made?
I hope the old grizzled prospector has a huge role

If it's anything like the old E3 2001 trailer it'll be like the best FPS ever. Prey discourages me, though.

It will come out... George Broussard says so. He wouldn't lie.
And any game that's been in development this long will either be super-extra-good or super-extra-bad. There is no "average" when it comes to a game given this much time for development...

I know I've linked to this here before, but it's so fun...
Best quote ever: "Last Saturday we had our annual company Christmas party. It was a lot of fun as usual but it featured one special surprise. It turns out that several people had been secretly working[.]"

But I don't WANT Duke Nukem Forever to come out. It's too funny.

Wow...you realize just how poorly the character has aged. The design of Duke is horrible, and the voice is even worse. This game is going to be full of fail, because it is a game that is living in an era of gaming that just doesn't exist anymore, and it doesn't look like they care at all about pushing the genre into new and exciting areas.

You're saying it's perfect for true next-generation systems?

Well it has taken a measly 11 years to get halfway there so yup 2018/2019 seems about right to me. I can't wait to see how great the game will look on the Unreal 10 engine running with Direct X 15!
