Title: Crimson/Black DS Lite Available from Canadian Retailer
Post by: Jonnyboy117 on July 20, 2007, 09:20:55 AM
Canadian store Future Shop lists a Red and Black DS Lite bundled with Brain Age 2, shipping August 20th.

Canadian retailer Future Shop (a Canadian subsidiary of Best Buy) has listed a DS Lite bundle that includes the system and Brain Age 2.  What sets this bundle apart, however, is the DS Lite's "Crimson/Black" color combination.  Its bottom half is black like an Onyx DS Lite, but its top half is a slick-looking red.  The bundle includes a matching red and black carrying case and sells for $159.99 CDN (about $153.00 USD).

There is currently no information regarding whether or not this bundle will make its way to the United States.  Stay tuned to Nintendo World Report for further updates.

How odd to see Future Shop referred to in the topic heading merely as "Canadian Retailer".  Different culture I guess as no one in Canada would use such a vague description of Future Shop, which is a REALLY big chain here.  It would be like referring to Target merely as "American Retailer".

One thing that's really helped Nintendo sales here is Nintendo of Canada's competency.. they're really doing a good job.

Did they take the listing down?

Yup, it looks like the listing has been taken down.  The picture is still there, though.  I bet that it sold out once it started getting Internet press.

Ian: I posted this one under Jonny's name, as I tend to do sometimes if I'm at work.  I'm Canadian, so I'm very familiar with Future Shop, The Brick, Chapters, Golden Griddle, Compucentre, Harvey's, or any other Canada-only chain.  Regardless of how big the chain is up there, nobody outside of that country would have a clue as to what Future Shop is, just like they wouldn't have a clue as to the name of most UK retailers.  Since Future Shop is only in Canada, I decided to describe it as such.  It's particularly relevant here since the deal involved hasn't been announced in the United States.

If it is, I'm getting one.  The red/black combo is soooo hot.

A little off topic I wonder what happened with that rumored revision.

Ugh.  I thought they learned from their horrible mismatched GBAs not to do this.
