There is only a drought because Manhunt 2 wasn't released on Monday as originally scheduled.

SSBB was never scheduled for August. November was always the rumored release month. It's coming Dec. 3rd.

What about Prime 3, and BWii?

Oh yeah, Bw2 will prolly be interesting, i smell a 9 for it on IGN... 9 for NWR as well

Prime 3 might be good, but from the looks of it, i bet it scores an 8.9 on IGN. NWR = 9

Ooo, alien syndrome might be fun, if it isnt too short and crappy. 7.8 NWR = 7

Any bet takers?

Ok, i guess im just sad i do not have brawl yet, and jiggly puff want announced yet... when i play as jiggs, i cant be beat.

It's being postponed for being the most violent game ever, ever.

Matt C is a huge Metroid fanboy and proclaims that it plays better than "any console FPS ever"...I'm pretty sure it's going to score well over 9 on IGN.

That said...who cares what IGN thinks of it, or even if a game gets 9s from the majority of reviewers?  Be an independent thinker.

Take-2's E3 press conference is currently in progress. Hopefully we'll know, within the hour, exactly what is going on with MH2.

lol.

I'm waiting for: "In response to the short sightedness of the industry.  Take-Two is now going to start to open up the industry.  We will be self publishing and releasing these titles for all systems despite lack of approval.  May the pirate revolution begin."

I'm really hoping that the reason for the lack of Nintendo games is because Nintendo is really trying to push 3rd parties and not make them fear Nintendo's lineup. Here's hoping that 3rd parties will make up for Nintendo.

Y'know several "hardcore" games from third parties are no shows at E3 so far. No More Heroes, Brother in Arms compilation, Medal of Honor (32 person   multiplayer!)

I think it's kind of silly to talk about a drought while excluding a HUGE first party release like Metroid Prime 3.  This isn't a non-game or B-title or niche title or port or remake or spinoff or anything like that.  That's a major exclusive brand new title that Nintendo is pushing as one of the top games on the system.  I often hear people throw out really weak ass games to argue that there's no drought but this isn't some Ubisoft game.  This is one of the true BIG games for the Wii and would be big on any console with any other games released at the same time.

Actually haven't the Metroid Prime titles been pretty niche when it comes to sales?  Anyway there is always droughts during this time of year, so I don't think this anything to be concerned about.

They've done a couple mil each, but I suspect MP3 will be THE game to get for many Wii owners.

Yeah GP is correct. This is the time of year that ALL systems suffer from a "lack" of games being released.

For me, the Wii gaming fest begins around the end of July when Guilty Gear XX Accent Core gets released. Then August brings metroid. November brings Mario and Dec brings SSBB. It's going to be one of Nintendos' strongest 1st party showings  in a long time this year so while it may be a drought right now, the holiday seasons going to be insane.

I believe BWii comes out in October, so no month is left without a first party title.  In fact, did any month this year not have a 1st party title?

"Actually haven't the Metroid Prime titles been pretty niche when it comes to sales?"

Yeah but with Nintendo fans Metroid is a big release.  I mean niche in the context of a genre that has its fans but is maybe a little too difficult or complicated to have mass appeal with hardcore gamers.  Like if a new King of Fighters comes out there's a group of hardcores that go crazy but it's not like a BIG game that everyone who isn't an ignorant dolt goes out and buys.

Metroid Prime 3 will be one of those games that years later will always get brought up when discussions about the best Wii games come up.  REAL Metroid is always a big event for a Nintendo fan.

they should just create a new raing for manhunt 2, ratings are only to protect children...when they start preventing adults from attaining stuff, then they've gone too far.

I think it looks like September and October will be the first-party-lite months for the Wii, which is why when I look at my list of games to buy for this fall, the ONLY third party game so far with a non-Septemer/October release date is Ravving Rabbids 2 at 11/5.
