Title: Settlers DS

The NoE website says it's coming on the 17th here. The screenshots and comments so far make it sound like a plain port of Settlers 2, not even using anything from the Next Gen version of S2, save for the box shot. If I was looking for a buildup sim I'd probably get anno instead.

A while ago there was a long video feature on this game, unfortunately it was in german so I was unable to comprehend anything, however you might want to take a look at it.

How nice, all the large pictures show the stuff from Settlers 2 Next Gen but you can clearly see on the game screen that it's using the old DOS sprites.

Probably becase the DS can't handle bigger and better sprites.

The NextGen version uses 3d models but they could at least have used screenshots from S2NG stuff instead of the boring old sprites.
