Today, Nintendo updated their Japanese Virtual Console release list with the upcoming games for July.  Star Soldier, Flappy, The Super Shinobi II, and Splatterhouse arrive on July 3rd.  The full list of nineteen games are listed below.  In addition, the two announced MSX games have been given a price, but have also been delayed to an ambiguous summer release date.  Eggy will cost 700 points and Aleste will cost 800 points.

As for North America, Nintendo Power featured six games in their latest issue that haven't yet been released though several of the games are already available in other regions.  Paper Mario, unveiled last month, also has yet to see release, but was likely delayed along with its Japanese counterpart.  The ESRB has also rated a handful of games that have not yet been officially announced.   Additionally, Hudson has already announced their five July releases.  Dragon Spirit is scheduled to lead the pack on July 2nd.

July marks the initial availability of Turbografx games in Australia and New Zealand.  Most of the games have been rated by the OFLC.  The eleven games are scheduled for a July 6th launch.

TG-16

Seven more games are scheduled for the remainder of July:

Hudson has also announced four games for Europe in July.  As in North America, Dragon Spirit will be the first to arrive on July 6th.  Finally, Breath of Fire II (SNES) was recently rated by PEGI for a European release.  It had previously been rated by the ESRB, though no release date is yet known.

I am interested in getting Wave Race 64, I remember how amazing the water looked in that game when it came out at launch for the N64.

Wave Race is one of my favorite N64 games, and I've been waiting for a VC release from the start.  Really looking forward to playing it again.

Wave Race 64 makes me happy. I don't think that the GC sequel was that exciting though.

I don't even remember Wave Race for GC even though I played it, so that tells you what I thought of it lol.

It's about time they released SMB2.  One step closer to SMB3.

...which won't be released until there's a 6-month Wii game drought.

Remember how they skipped SMB3 for the GBA cash-ins? It'll be another 12-18 months before we see it on VC.

If you're talking about the Classic series, then yeah. And even for the Mario Advance series, they waited until last to remake SMB3.

I can't blame them for being so protective of it, though.. It is the bestselling non-pack-in game ever, plus it's simply one of the best games of alltime. Even though I like the original SMB and SM64 better for sentimental reasons, SMB3 is as close to perfection as you can get from a game.

That was perhaps the biggest rip off Nintendo has ever pulled, we still had many more levels to unlock and they didn't bother releasing the rest of the Ecards. Sadly I don't think we will ever see all the extra levels!

"Shining Force comes and all other vc titles laugh at it, because its another series sega ruined."

I don't get that.  That's like having a football game and the 49ers of the 80's shows up.  Do you laugh at them because the current 49ers suck?  Well maybe you do but the 49ers of the 80's then kick your ass.  The good Shining Force games aren't hurt by modern crappy Shining games.

But really the big news is Donkey Kong Jr. Math.  The game your parents bought you and you never played and hid when your friends came over so they didn't beat you up for being such a big loser is now available on the VC!!

It has been available since the start or at least very early in Europe IIRC.
