The waggle control support kind of reminds me of putting Dreamcast controller users against PC mouse-keyboard users in Quake III. That is to say, lol.

I personally doubt the waggle controls will actually work well. If Nintendo wants to make a new kind of fighting game, they should make wireless controller attachments that connect to each foot or knee to detect a kick motion...........
And make a 1st person fighting game. I can so see Capcom making a really good Street Fighter 2 remake in 1st person for the Wii.

I think S-U-P-E-R is going to demand a Wii remote attachment of Faust's scalpel.

What, even MORE system moves? I can't even remember the current ones, never mind explain them to other players I'm trying to play with (which is the reason I never played much GG in MP, noone wants to learn that much).

I might pick this one up if the reviews are good. But I think I'll stick with the purists' traditional gameplay with either a classic or GC controller.

The only downside to the game (or so it seems) from video clips is the new announcer voice lol. "Heaven or Heal . . . duel 1 . . . LETS ROCK" just doesn't sound as cool as it once did. Which is a minor thing so who cares haha.
Aside from that it looks to be another kick ass GGXX.
Oh and I too will be sticking with a classic controller on this one heh.

I can't imagine playing this game with the waggle controls.
If the classic controller scheme is good, then this game will do just fine. Otherwise this will become Capcom vs Snk 2 EO Second Edition.
About control systems I hear yah KDR, but I guess that's why GG is called "chess at light speed".

Chess has simple rules.
BTW, amy I the only one who thinks fighting games should have their tutorials include more than just "this button does that" and elaborate a bit on the strategies and such involved in playing the game?

I think Bleach DS's challenge mode kinda goes into that direction, it teaches you ten combos per character and gets you used to concepts like launcher attacks, air combos, flashstep cancels, ...

I put a pre-order on this game at the same time I put a pre-order on MP3C, I will play GGXXAC in between breaks of playing MP3C which basically means I will only play GGXXAC after I've finished MP3C.

They should have just put in cute minigames using the Wii controller, like they put in stylus games in Guilty Gear DS. Stacking things and playing with dolphins and doing billiards! :3

I actually think it's a good thing they didn't put in any mini-games. All I could have ever wanted from them was for them to add some borders to the 4:3 part of the game so that us 16:9ers could get something insignificantly special.
Mashiro, well if the PS2 version doesn't have online then why would the Wii version of the game have it, unless of course the PS2 version does have online and I didn't know.

I dunno cause maybe they woulda been cool and taken advantage of Wii Connect 24 a opposed to just a straight port? =) It was just wishful thinking though (doesn't Xbox have a version online?).

. . .?
And?
Lol. It's guilty gear. What could they do for a 2D fighting game on Wii that they couldn't on PS2? (Aside from Waggle controls?)

I don't know, make it Wii exclusive?

It is a port, but they are spending the time needed to make the controls good and playable.
Yes they have added Wiimote controls, but they also have support for both classic and gamecube controllers.
And Guilty Gear is one of the best 2D fighting series in really pushing the envelope of new fighting techniques and such. (I am sure there is a Japanese Exclusive game that is better, but not a World Wide Release game.)
Everyone should buy this game so that developers know Wii can support fighters.

No, this is the newest one, and also has the bugs from the Japanese PS2 version ironed out.

"I don't know, make it Wii exclusive?"
The majority of tournament players are still on PS2 for GG so in no way would that have happened. Besides, who cares if it ain't exclusive, the GC couldn't even buy a game like this so for me it's the fact that I'll actually be able to buy it that's got me excited.

I don't know about you guys/gals, but to me having the ability to perform special-attacks with a simple gesture or button combination (I can't remember which one it is) is really going to increase my fun with this game, I'm not good at mashing buttons you see.

If you look at the box arts closely they are a variation of each other just the Wii has A.B.A. zoomed in more and the PS2 box art has Order Sol a little bit zoomed in. I guess Aksys wanted to emphasize these 2 new characters in the third or fourth remake(if im wrong please correct me) of Guilty Gear XX.
Title: RE: Guilty Gear Officially Announced For America
Post by: KDR_11k on September 08, 2007, 12:40:57 AM
The Wii one has ABA before Sol's sword which removes the wall between them and makes it look like they're doing somethign together, PS2 looks more like Sol left ABA behind and keeps her away with his sword. The Wii version is also brighter to match the average box style for Wii games (which is pretty bright) while the PS2 matches their average style (dark, mostly black and red).
