Title: Numchuck required?
Post by: Elementos on May 30, 2007, 07:30:50 AM
Hey, does anyone know if the "Numchuck" is required to play the Wii?

The Nunchuck is not required to operate the Wii system.

Different games will specify if the Nunchuck is required for gameplay.

Can you give me a small list of those games, and if I can not play those games without one?

It will tell you on the back of the box what controller requirement are needed to play the game.
It will also tell you how many people can play the game together on the back of the box.

You also get one if you buy the system.

I figure that is where this question is being generated from.

He "bought" one yesterday, according to his posts.  He also bought some games, so he could easily look at the back of their boxes to see what we're talking about, but he chooses not to for some reason.

It is easier to just ask someone...in many peoples minds.

Elementos, congrats on your Wii purchase.  Most Wii games will actually require having both the nunchuck and remote to play the game.  But there are quite a few that do not.  It is easiest to check the back of games before buying them, because it lists what controllers are required and even how many people can play at a time.

The biggest problem with this is sometimes games are in cases and you can't see the back.  In that case I would do research online of any game you want to play.  At this point it is easier to list the games that don't require the nunchuck to play.

Those include but are not limited to:

Super Monkey Ball
Wario Ware
Wii Sports
Virtual Console NES, TG16, and Genesis games (although many will play better with the classic controller)
Bust-A-Move Groove
Wii Play

Wow, I am having a hard time thinking of other remote only games at this time.

Cuz you're spending yourself on something dumb like a new Smash Bluthers game.

Nunchuck not required:

ExciteTruck
Marble Mania
Sonic and the Secret Rings
Monster 4x4
Wing Island
Cars
GT Pro
Tony Hawk Downhill Jam

Please, Union Pentagon/ARO/Nintendo_star/whatever you're going to call yourself next, stop posting inane threads with absolutely no purpose, relevance or redeeming value.

Though parts of WarioWare need the Nunchuck, right? And of course Boxing in WiiSports requires it.

Haha, "numchucks" is a funny typo.

This is the troll that's been trying poorly to masquerade around these boards for the past two weeks, albeit sporadically.  I can spot out his dupe's names without even seeing the post, now, he's gotten so tired.  I'm not kidding either.
