Speaking with GameSpot, Red Octane President Kai Huang said that online play would be a big part of the game, including competitive and co-op game modes, more music and downloadable content. Activision's Neversoft studio is developing the game, after the series' original developer, Harmonix, moved on to develop Rock Band on the 360 and PS3 for EA and MTV.
Huang also said that his company is "looking at a DS version" for early 2008. This is especially curious, since there definitely won't be a guitar controller in play on the handheld. Obviously, the touch screen could emulate the frets, but how would you hold the thing? We'll need to see how that's going to work.
Keep it tuned to NWR for the latest on these rockin' developments.

Singles could sell for 100 points. This is roughly comparable to the iTunes Music Store price. This might be scaled up to 150 points, but 200 or more and I wouldn't use it.
500 points for 3 songs would be pushing me, just as 200 points for one would. I might get packs at 500/3, but I'd need to really like the songs in those packs.
QuoteYeah, we all hate that game too, we just lied about it to make you get it.
I concur. NWR owes us $5 for LYING about that horrible, worthless game.
