Origin
Smash_Brother is the name of an avid gamer who became a fanatic of the game "Super Smash Bros.". His love for the game was so strong that he decided that his online name would be "Smash_Brother". Since then, online users have referred to him as Smash_Brother, or S_B (SB) for short.

Smash_Brother: Name given to someone who puts a lot of effort and passion into accomplishing something, sometimes above the standard levels of effort. Someone overly fanatical about a certain mission or goal.

He is also known for going through great lengths just to get the console, including waiting in line during a harsh winter morning and waiting all night. He has also loudly criticized Nintendo's poor efforts when trying to ship more Wiis. Because of that, some users have used the name "Smash_Brother" as a way to categorize a level of effort, or to name someone who puts a lot of time, energy and passion into completing an objective.

The thing is, I was going through the Sony thread and saw that comment. I got it right away because Smash has been talking about his Wii exploits for a while. I knew that. But then a few minutes later, I come to the funhouse and see that you have posted a thread on it. And maybe you are just doing this as a joke.
But it just seems to me that you saw BlackNMild2K1's posts and then saw Smash comment about it being neat that his name has become an adjective, so now you have decided to let everyone know about it in the hopes that they will use it because you want to do something for your friend and he thought it was neat.
To me, it's getting to be a bit much. Sorry to be a bit of a downer tonight. I don't know what it is. I guess the Golden Phoenix thing is in my head. I was reading the topic about changes to NWR reviews and you and Golden were getting in an arguement over responses to reviews. I'm guessing it has to do with the Sonic debate which I quit following a long time ago.
Anyways, the point was she was complaining you were fighting with Smash against her even though you never played the game. And I know likewise, Smash will fight for you over things. Like I said, I understand that. I know you are friends and it's not like I'm saying you can't agree with one another or post to one another on this forum. It's just that after awhile, it just gets to be a bit too much. At least to me. And then it just gets tiring.
Anyways. Have your fun. But just try to take a break from Smash once in awhile also.

Well honestly, you are thinking way too much into this.
Yeah, I did post this because I thought the use of his efforts as an adjective was funny enough, and considering that nearly everything that happens in this forum gets turned into a Funhouse thread, whether it be the issue with reviews or my friendship with S_B. I wasn't expecting ANYTHING from this, just another silly Funhouse thread. Plus, I wanted to put some in some creativity into the definition, just for the hell of it.
About the agreeing thing, I'll admit that for a while I was playing devil's advocate. I was either trying to prove SB wrong on occasion or playfully abusing him. For example, I was ragging on him about his sense of humor. I would've turned it into a joke but SB didn't saw it that way and wanted me to stop.
And about the games and reviews issue, I already explained to Golden that I trust SB and Cap's word on games and other stuff more than some other people (mainly website and magazine review) since in the past they have showed me games and stuff that I end up enjoying in the end. Plus, our general interests are very similar and share similar opinion on certain subjects.
Also, this is the second time I talk about SB on the Funhouse, much less praise him in one form or another. The first time was when I confessed that I was friends with him. Outside that, all I've been doing is agree or disagree with him on thread or try to back up his claims. I am just unlucky that it happens often and that I generally agree with some of the stuff he says.
And finally, without getting too much into the details, I admire SB and friends. I mean, no friend of mine has ever gone through the lengths SB and friends went through in order to get me a Wii, and just recently I learned that one of the other friends was actually worried about my professional future and even went as far as to offer himself to help me out. Again, no other friend has done that for me in the past, so I can't help but show high respect and admiration for them. That doesn't mean that I ignore flaws and issues. Its just that they have my respects and admiration.
Outside us agreeing with each other and defending each other's views, I honestly think people are taking this way too heart and frankly, it does look like there is some sort of envy involved. I mention this because I've seen this sort of thing happen before, where in a group of friends if one of them has a girlfriend and they are "lovey lovey" the other people will find themselves annoyed and want them to cut it out.
Except that in this case, people are getting tired of me and SB constantly quoting and helping each other out in the forums when most of the members are doing it on their own.
I mean, let's be honest here. If one of the NWR staffers became good friends with one of the members and helped each other out the other members WOULD mock them and bring their friendship up the same way its happening with me and SB.
Hell, I joked about you constantly praising Bloodworth to the point where I called you his lackey (which I hope you didn't take to heart, but considering that you have joked similarly about my friendship with SB I figured I would do the same
).

As for the NWR staff comment, you are right. I'm sure that the NWR staff know each other quite well and are probably really good friends in real life, so when the members start to give crap to one of them they are bound to come and help.
Its actually no different than when I help SB out during a discussion and he helps me out. The difference is that we show it often while the staffers appear when they need to.

First of all, the word "confessed" is the wrong one to use. That implies wrongness in some way, but english is your second language so it's forgivable.
Second, I just think people have had enough. Coming from someone else who doesn't know me or mention me on any kind of regular basis, it would seem a bit funnier, but even then it was just a passing joke in a few threads and didn't warrant its own thread, hence why it just made it worse in people's eyes that it was coming from you.

Comedy is a difficult science. In the right situation, with the right presentation, the definition gag could have been worth a chuckle.

I may be off, but doesn't Spak's comment speak to a term about stuff guys, may um do, whether they are homosexual or straight (unless it was in reference to another post)? Anyway I do think people were a bit mean with Pap, then again when you have a forum built around insults or jokes, that is to be expected. Still sometimes thing go over the line.
