Title: Forgive me father, for I have...
Post by: Smash_Brother on April 07, 2007, 07:38:58 PM
...deleted 75% of my Miis.
I had to do it. I had 92 of them, most were fictional, and for some GODFORSAKEN reason, Wii Sports places the freshly made Miis at the very end of the list.
This means that every time I show the Wii (and of course sports) to someone new, they have to cycle through 5-6 pages of Miis before they find the one they just made. When we're talking about a person who has just picked up the Wiimote for the first time and is still wrapping their head around the concept of the pointer, getting them to click that right arrow 5-6 times without accidentally missing is asking a great deal of them, and when they miss and select the wrong Mii and need to start over, it spoils the experience for them.
Yeah, I could have them set their Mii to a favorite, except that I already have 10 favorites.
Anyone else run into this problem? Of all things, I have no idea why Nintendo didn't make the most recently made Mii appear FIRST in the list for Wii Sports. Odds are, that Mii was created with the intention of playing Wii Sports so why doesn't it appear first in the list, dammit?
So I deleted every Mii who didn't belong to a person who would visit me IRL and I'm down to 24 (I even deleted Pap's family, but they live on his Wii now anyway).
I just have to think that it's worth it to be able to prove the concept of the Wii to people that much more quickly. Some Miis died so that many others could one day be born.

Use the D-Pad and the +/- buttons to scroll.

I know, but I still need to tell them to hit it 5-6 times while we check to make sure we don't pass theirs.

You are forgiven, my son, as I too have committed this sin...
Seriously, I too have faced this problem. I've ended up deleting A LOT of my Mii creations just to make room for friend Miis and such. I usually just take a pic of them before the deletion starts.
Also, the Miis of my family also live on my nephew's Wii.
But what you should have done was this. You can save up to 10 Miis on a controller. I believe you have 6 controllers, right? Well, you could've saved up to 60 Miis and save the ones you need.
That's what I did with the Miis I've received from NWR friends. That and send them to my nephew's Wii as a second storage.

I haven't tried it yet. But do you have to take the Miis from your controller and put them into the Plaza to use them. When choosing Miis for Wii sports it would be good if you could select 'Wiimote' and pull some favs from there ready to play. Extra space for favs without searching, there.

1st_fret, you CAN do that.... the catch is that it won't track stats for those miis on the controller. And once you move a mii onto your controller, it loses all of its past records from Wii Sports.
So only do it for miis who haven't been used for Wii Sports, or unless you suspect that person will never again play with that Mii on your Wii.

You didn't need to delete all of those poor Mii, there's plenty of site that let you Save/Edit/Download Mii on to your pc by using the wiimote's bluetooth like Mii Mail
