Quote Is producing a Wii game something Bethesda would like to do?
It's something we'd like to do, but unfortunately it's not a very good fit with Oblivion. Oblivion is a very demanding game hardware-wise and in terms of graphics processing and raw horsepower. It's not something the Wii was designed to do. They decided not to make the focus on raw horsepower but on interface and so forth.
It's a great console and many of us at Bethesda have one but I know that bringing Oblivion over is not possible - we'd have to do a whole new game.
Is that something you're considering?
It's something we've talked about, but I don't think you could say we're considering it. It's not in our immediate future - maybe something we'll look at somewhere down the road.
What about the PSP version of Oblivion? Is that still due in spring?
It's still in the works; the release date at the minute is TBC. It's a completely different development track. It basically uses nothing from Oblivion, it's a completely new game.
PSP to Wii port confirmed!!! Who's gonna buy it?

More like "It's something we'd like to do, but we're not gonna do it because we don't want to do it, but it's something we'd like to do."

What makes sense to me is they are making a PSP version, but not a Wii version?
Is the PSP more powerful than the Wii?

No, but since the screen is smaller and hi-rez, the graphics will look better on the PSP version that the subsequent Wii port to follow. I'm betting on PSP being the lead platform for this title, which is soon to be ported to PS2 & Wii.

Do publishers actually make any money when they release a title on the PSP?

If it's a PS2 port, or has Metal Gear/GTA in the name, probably.

Actually, the GTA games don't sell well enough to not bring them to the PS2 afterwards...

True, but that doesn't imply that they aren't turning a profit at the PSP level, just that it's not as high as Rockstar would have liked.

Yeah, I have to give that one to you.
I just mention it because they're not bringing in enough bucks to NOT bring it to the PS2, but the PS2 is still a good platform to dev for.

I suspect that FFVIICC might sell well in Japan, but not enough to start a PSP Renaissance.

I've said it before and I will say it again. If they wanted to bring Oblivion to Wii, the could used the Morrowind engine. Would it be a pretty as the PC/360 version? Nope, not close. Would it look better than the crap Ubisoft has been bring to Wii? Most definitely.
