Title: pokemon s/r
Post by: survivorcyco on March 15, 2003, 04:26:24 AM
I heard that only the new pokemon are in the game and all the old ones arent in it. plus you cant trade old pokemon in the new game so you can never get the old pokemon in r/s.

Making this the official thread for all questions on Ruby/Sapphire.  - Bloodworth

This isn't true. Go to pokemon.com or pokemongames.com and read about it there. I actually havent got the game yet because its not released here yet, but I am heavily waiting for it.

There's a few old ones in the games but that's it. And you cannot trade with past versions.

Since its the Oficial Help Thread ill ask my question:

How do you get the second evolution of Nincada.  The one with the halo.  The strategy guide said you must have 5 pokemon with you or less and atleast 1 Pokeball.

Help would be nice.

Trying to do the same thing myself actually.

So do you know how, does mine have a glitch or something.  I had a Poke'ball in my inventory then had only 5 Pokemon with me including Nincada, then when it reached lv.20 it evolved.  But instead it evolved into Ninjask. What's up with that?

Huh? That sounds like a weird way to make a pokemon evolve...

Well, I finally got it.  Keep at least one open slot.  Nincada evolved at level 20 into Ninjask, and the shell became Shedinja which only has 1 HP, but has an uncanny ability to avoid attacks as well as a heap of attack power.

So you have to wait for it to evolve to Ninjask. oh.

Ive been doing everything right but just turn off the game when I see Ninjask's form.  Thanx. Tho my Nincada has been low level to my Party Pokemon.

 Uh one more question...

Does Shedinja stay with 1 HP. And if so which attacks can Shedinja avoid, hes pretty cool that he can avoid attacks, but which ones.

I haven't leveled up Shedinja yet, but it didn't get hurt at all until the fool got confused.

Shedinja stays at 1 HP FOREVER.
Mines currently level 65 and still has *1* HP.

Only being able to be affected by 5 types (Dark/Fire/Flying/Rock/Ghost) Is a *HUGE* advantage, just be careful though, cause that pidgy with peck could take you out in one turn.

Which fossil you choose is up to you...

I suggest beating the elite 4 first before you choose, because the Champion uses both of their final stages.
Armaraldo (Bug/Rock) Is the Claw Fossil
Cradily (Grass/Rock) is the Root Fossil..
Fight against them and see which one you would prefer

Hey. I am playin saphire version right now and am trying to catch Kyogre, that pokemon that causes the rain. I have gotten him down to 1 hp and paralyzed him yet i still cant catch him. I tried putting him to sleep but i think the powder doesnt work in the rain. Has anyone caught him yet and what methods did you use?

I have ruby, but i was lazy in catching Groudon and just used my master ball.

If you want to catch him normaly, Try putting him to sleep or freezing him. Sleep and Freezing increases your chances while paralizing doesn't, I think.

Hey I am trying to catch kyogre and have decided to just use the master ball. The question is where is the master ball? I heard it was in team aqua's hideout, but when I went there it was gone? did it change? Can I still get the masterball?

The master ball is hiding among the electrodes.

I finally got my Plusle and Minum to breed and lay an egg.  Does anyone know what will hatch out of this egg.  I assumed since both were electric type that a Pichu would result.  Am I warm?

One of the prizes in the Lilycove city lottery is a master ball.  That and the one hidden in the Team Aqua/Magma hideout are the only ones I know of.

Do NOT use your masterball on Groudon/Kyogre.

Better saved using it on Latios/Latias or Rayquaza when you get to him.

Paralyze does make catching easier, just throw a few more ball's, i have bad luck catching pokemon, but i managed to catch Groudon, and the 3 Regi's without using masterball, just took some time.

If you breed Plusle and Minum, whichever one was the mother is what the baby will be.  To get a pichu, you need to breed a female pikachu (found in safari zone) with either a Male pikachu, or some other compatible pokemon (i think)

You get a master ball in the team magma/aqua hideout, and if you have *all* digits correct in the lotto, you can also get one there.

I had extremely good luck in catcing kyorge i got it down to alittle HP then i caught it with onle Ultra ball so now im gonna use my master on Latias.I heard one guy who tried 20 times with an ultra ball to catch kyorge, just get him weak.  I didnt even have to put him to sleep, or anything, i just have strong pokemon, though he used that one move to kill aton of them but i used revive and eventually caught him with 1  ball.

So you can't get some of the old Pokemon?  What about Mewtwo?  Is he in the game?

No mewtwo isnt in the game, but there may be a way of getting him in the future though, possibly through Pokemon Box or Pokemon Coluseum... *shrugs shoulders*

Oh, has anyone caught a Feebas? Its driving me insane, im fishing for it all over the place, apparently its only in a few tiles of water, out of 400 :\ Has anyone caught one?

I have.
There are 6 feebas tiles.
If you hit one, you have a 50% of running into Feebas.

Also, Shedinja will stay with 1 HP no matter what.
So, no.
You cannot give him a HP up.
Even with EVs into HP he'll still be at 1.

Im in a slump here and i hope someone can help me. I am using a Minum as my electric pokemon and i was looking at its stats and attack and defensive stats arent good and this pokemon doesnt evolve either. Would it be best to ditch it and raise a Pikachu or Electrike or just stick with it ?

Plusle and Minun are only good together in 2-on-2 battles.  Raise an Electrike or Pikachu instead.  If you can get a light ball Pikachu is definitely your choice.  The light ball doubles Pikachu's special attack making it equal to Kyogre's.(Though Pika's defense wouldn't help you win in a fight against a Kyogre)

The light ball ? Im guessing that its a holding Item. Where exactly do i get that ?

I had the light ball in Pokemon Yellow, you get it through Pokemon Stadium. But can you get it in Ruby/Sapphire?

As for electric Pokemon, Plusle and Minun are WEAK. They're pretty cool though, you can raise one if you like it, but if its power you're after, go with Electrike or Pikachu. Chinchou is also a very good (and useful) electric Pokemon.

You get a light ball randomly from Pikachus in the Safari Zone.  However, the problem is that you get it VERY VERY rarely.  It took me about 25 Pikachus before I finally got one.

OK well Minun has already been ditched I guess im just going to raise an electrike since i just got HM03 ( surf ) and it will be a while till i get to the safari zone

On another note... How the hell do you fish ? Everytime i get a bite i always loose it ... what am i doing wrong ?

hi pll! this is my very first post but  i can help you all i think, i have caught regirock, ice, steel, kyogre, AND rayquazza without even knowing there was a master ball, my advice is, (on ruby) train a zangoose to a hight level (on sapphire) train a bagon to a hight level salemence now, on ruby, use zangoos's false swipe and the stun spore, whatever, then, this is quite hard now, choose ultra ball, hold up from the first second you have selected it, (not just when it opens) and as soon as it opens, hold b and keep holdin up, ok? thats how i did it, butnow i cant get the master ball... snivel.... ah well, now with that answered i would like a little help please, where and how do i get a dragon fang, thank you,

Go to Mossdeep City and defeat the leader which then alows you to use dive. Swim South of Mossdeep and dive underwater and youll eventually reach Team Aquas hideout.
