I own one and it's easily the best pad in the industry. It's lasted for roughly two years now and I haven't even cleaned it. Soft pads will die in a matter of a month with regular use and at $25 a pop, you're better off shelling out the $300 and getting a pad which will last AND allow you to improve all the way up to 10 footers, if necessary.
The one downside is that they don't yet have the control box to connect it to a GC port yet. I've emailed them about it, as well as included a link to the article about DDR coming to the Wii, asking if they intend to make one. If other people want to pester them about it, that would be great. Maybe we could get them to build a GC version next.
There's a plethora of varying pads to be found here, but speaking as a guy who has tried other hard pad brands in the past, save yourself the time and go for a CFlux.

And for those that are simply too broke to buy a hard pad or simple don't want to spend 300 dollars on just a peripheral, a soft foam pad is a solid alternative.
I've had one for over 2 years and it has survived a flood plus my 230 + body jumping up and down on it.
I would post a link but I can't remember where I got it from...

These guys are the linchpin of the pad market. If they start bringing out GC pads, everyone will.
And you have an ignition pad, except you only paid $40 for it. Yet another pad which doesn't offer a GC connector.

It's what I have as well. Here's hoping a converter will be released outside of LikSang's now defunct joybox.

Yeah, I looked for a while back when Mario DDR was first out and couldn't find an adapter to connect it to the PS2 interface (not one that worked, anyway).
Maybe they have one now, but I'd rather just get a real GC connector than bother with adapting the PS2 connector.

I went to play-asia.com and they are selling the Joybox pro which supposively works with the DDR pads now. I haven't picked it up yet nor have I looked at DDRFreaks to see if they say it works. But it's a start.
