Title: Naruto Shippuuden:Gekitou Ninja Taisen EX for Wii
Post by: Flames_of_chaos on January 28, 2007, 07:32:10 AM
Tomy's new naruto fighter is cellshaded again and supports Remote + nunchuk, Classic Controller or Gamecube controller. 1 - 4 players yet again and it looks like it will have a modified Naruto Clash of Ninja engine.

Datel is hard at work on a Wii Freeloader, so hopefully they get it done fast!

We'll you know they'll release another Naruto game next year which will be better, like how the ones for Gamecube got better every year. So if the Wii freeloader takes along time to come out I'd recommend waiting until they release Naruto Shippuuden: Gekitou Ninja Taisen EX 2, because it's usaully worth the wait.
Buy these yearly franchises every 2 years, that's what I say. That's why I only bought Naruto 2 and 4 for the Gamecube since it works out the best this way, because the sequel will actually feel like a big improvement.

Whomever is releasing the Naruto games in NA, they should just skip the GC games and release this game.

HAHA They can't because the timeskip is probably two years away from the US.

I don't want to wait 2 years...I really wish that Funimation/Viz/4kids had no hand in choice for the release of these games.
I've seen the cover for this game, all of the characters shown on it except Deidara will appear soon enough in NA...oh wait, if they have a story mode I guess there will be alot of people that will be confused...damn them all.

They might use the engine changes to port the previous NGT games to the Wii so they don't get released on a dead console in NA.
Considering that the Wii accepts firmware upgrades and that NoE already deliberately broke compatibility with the Freeloader I don't think a Wii Freeloader would work for long unless you lock your Wii out of firmware upgrades...

That's a great point. Region locking is really annoying, I wish Nintendo would just toss it in the garbage already.

NoE knows their sales would suffer big time if they removed the lock because games are cheaper and released earlier in other regions. Importing from Japan isn't such a big deal because of the language barrier but importing from the US probably is. I mean, I got Megaman ZX before it even has a release date here for ~25€ which is a price DS games only hit in the clearance bin.

I hope they retain all the dead characters in this instalment. I have a nagging feeling that tells me they'll start off with a small character roster in order to be able to beef it up in the inevitable sequals. If the Wiiloader is done in time I'll just wait for EX2.
As an aside I know that Datel has made a new version of the GC Freeloader (v1.0e) which allows PAL Wiis to run NTSC GC games. Although with some NTSC games (eg Naruto GNT4) you need to use v1.0e to load v1.06B/b which then loads the NTSC game. Shows they are committed to getting round NoE / NAL's region protections.

Pretty poor quality but from what I could glean there are updated specials and at least one bonus mini game.

hmm, now u guys are getting me worried about region locking via wii firmware updates. Wouldn't Datel lose lots of money if they spent so much on developing the Wiiloader only for Nintendo to make their product not work. Good luck Datel.

I see no real reason for NoA to block out the Datel Region Unlocker for the Wii. I mean why should people not have a way to play import games. There isn't a big enough number of people who play them that Nintendo has to worry about their sales in the region being hurt. NoE and NAL are a different story all together. They stand to be hurt by a region unlocker, which is really unfortunate for any of you guys over there. Just keep your fingers crossed, maybe Nintendo won't F with it too much.

I saw a promo video showing gameplay.... and the Wiimote style really sucks :S
and regarding imports, waiting for modchips may be the best bet...
