What would most surprise and excite me would be Kid Icarus for Wii or a new 2D Metroid for DS. If it's really a big, "famous" series, if we look at Nintendo's biggest franchises, the ones we just know will appear on Wii sooner or later, I'd wager it's either F-Zero or Mario Kart.
But the realist in me is expecting it to be a DS game in an obscure, Japan-only series that will never see a U.S. release.
Edit: I remember another famous series that's a natural for the Wii: Pilotwings. I'll add that to the fantasy column.

It'd be cool to get a sequel to Luigi's Mansion. You could control the flashing light with the Wiimote and catch ghosts with your Nunchuk somehow.

I didn't see that, but considering it's a bad translation of a German site's blurb on a Japanese magazine's teaser, I'm still not confident. On the other hand, surely there's somebody in the English-speaking world who reads Nintendo Dream. Where are their reports or corroborations?
I just tried to look for information on Nintendo Dream on Wikipedia, and NWR was the first result. Imagine that.

Honestly I would love to be excited about the supposed rumor. I don't plan on setting myself up for a big let down, bacause that's exactly what I am banking on.
Due to popular VC download demand we would like to announce "Urban Champion 2" with 4 playable characters.

"It'd be cool to get a sequel to Luigi's Mansion. You could control the flashing light with the Wiimote and catch ghosts with your Nunchuk somehow."
Well in the Cube game that flashlight and the vacuum were the same thing. You stopped shining the flashlight when you sucked.
I question how much the Luigi's Mansion formula can be expanded on. That game ended right around the time where it started to get boring. I got a few days of fun out of it but once I beat it I had no interest in ever playing it again. The game is infamous for being short and having little replay value so how does Nintendo expand that to a series?
But then I'm biased because I hold that game partially responsible for the Cube not catching on.

If they added a lot more puzzle solving to the formula, it could go a lot further, especially if they gave Luigi a few new tricks. They could extend it by simply adding more mansions. Imagine King Boo escapes and he and his Boos take over an upscale Mushroom Kingdom neighborhood. Somehow Luigi gets sucked into strapping on the Poltergust 3000 again and cleaning up the mess. (heh, punny)

That's a pretty cool idea. Hell the game can just involve wandering through the Mushroom Kingdom getting rid of ghost infestations in building or different sizes and even just general areas like forests or lakes. Then it's like an adventure game like Zelda but with the Luigi's Mansion gameplay and with the emphasis being on ghost catching. If you have a place to explore then I think it would become much more interesting. Damn. Now I want this fantasy game we just made up.

This is like the biggest non-rumour ever? I mean, think about it. Basically what this rumour says is that sometime in the future, not sure when, Nintendo is going to announce a new sequel to an older game. Nintendo. Continuation of a series. It's not like this is rare, people. Not like this doesn't happen very often. This is the equivalent of a rumour saying Nintendo will one day in the future announce a new game with Mario in it. Miss Cleo could predict that for god's sake.

I wish. I figure we're in for at least a year after TP before they are willing to come out and show anything from the next console entry. Odds are they'll save it for a keynote at whatever we're calling the E3 thing now. However, there are rumors that it is already well underway, so maybe we wont have to wait that long.
That said, Kid Icarus would make me happy. I just worry that any Kid Icarus game made now would end up as a Zelda clone with wings.

Seriously, did anyone notice the Chain Chomps, Goombas, Piranha Plants and Boos that were all straight out of Link's Awakening? I mean, how shameless can they get for a, then new, Mario title as to steal another franchise's characters?

"I just worry that any Kid Icarus game made now would end up as a Zelda clone with wings."
I honestly wouldn't mind this...Make it Zelda-ish with more focus on action and I'm totally there...

As long as it deals with Greek mythology, and you can fly absolutely anywhere you want, this game would be incredible.

It'd be Mario Galaxy with flying Castlevania Medusa heads.

Pit couldn't fly until very near the end of the game. If they made a new Kid Icarus, it'd most likely be primarily jumping and gliding. I'd fear it being more of a Metroid clone if anything. You jump and shoot while collecting power-ups along the way. He never had a bow that doubled as swords before though so they could take that idea and run with it.

Oh god not a Metroid Prime style game. That would be just sad.
Ice Climbers Wii: use the nunchaku as a hammer to drive in climbing anchors.

I would prefer a 3rd person adventure to a fps/a.

Even without those titles, though, it was incredibly difficult to come up with a roster of just 10 Wii games that I'm excited about through the end of the year. I probably could have easily whipped up 20 or maybe even 30 projects - all of which will hit in the next 12 months.
What intrigues me most about this quote is not only does he say 2 or 3 secret projects, but the fact that he wouldv'e added them to his top ten list. That's saying something when you look at his list.
Equally as intriguing is the notion that another 10 or 20 projects for '07 could have been on the list as well. This is going to be one hell of a year.
Wii FTW!
(although I still can't buy one for myself, I'm still playing my brothers with component cables now! MMMM Link so shiny!)
Edit: I forgot the point of posting here; hopefully on of those projects he speaks of is the mystery sequel, and it's shaping up very well.
I would love a Kid Icarus game where the entire you're in flight, the whole game makes use of your wings and fly manipulating the Wii-mote (Zelda spoiler: ) like the giant-bird in Zelda. The first 8 or so times I did the flying with the bird I hated it, and wished I was playing I was playing the GC version which surely used the analog stick, but after mastering the technique, I found it to be so enjoyable, I'm still going back to beat my high score every now and again.

Well, GoNintendo & NPhiles seem to think that the mystery sequel will be another entry in the Punch Out series.
Quote “Punch-Out!!” has once again been trademarked through the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Nintendo filed the trademark on April 1, 2005 for service under “electronic game discs.” The status of the name is active as recent as January 11, 2007.
The game has not officially been confirmed. However, recent reports from IGN hinted at possible Nintendo franchises being reborn on Wii. If in fact a Punch-Out!! title is coming, the game could theoretically have been in development since its 2005 filing date.
If it does end up being Punch Out, I hope they iron out all the little issues people had with Wii Sports Boxing and make the game a little easier to control, or atleast give a better tutorial on how to get the game to react to your movements in a way that you can replicate on purpose.
I mean side hooks are almost impossible for me to throw on command(or at all sometimes) and uppercuts take too much effort and too many chances to actually throw. Even High & Low punch is frustrating enough at times.

Punch Out would be cool, but they definitely need a revamping of the boxing system from WiiBoxing.
IMO the only thing they got 100% in WiiSports was bowling. The swing mechanics in baseball work well, but there's too much more to baseball to say it's 100%. Tennis is pretty close, but opposite direction smashes don't always connect properly. Boxing BlacknMild alrdy mentioned, and golf is kind of tricky, but also good.

Agreed, BNM.
I just hope they bring back Little Mac and not his arcade Stallone-like equivalent...
Oh, and while I'm on the subject, LM for SSBB!

"Little Mac" looked weird in Fight Night Round 2. Well, that game included Super Punch-Out!!, and the model of the FNR2 Little Mac was based off of the main character in that game, who I don't think has a name. Anyway, this "Little Mac" looked like some babyfaced tough guy, and I hate the look of babyfaced tough guys. It's just ...eeew.

I like how Little Mac is smaller then everyone else and you sort of look above and not through him to box.

www.N-sider.com is reporting that Star Fox may get the Wii treatment.
It's been too long since Star Fox 64, though Command was pretty nice, I want this game developed in house! And I want it only with the Wii remote, I know it can be done! I can just imagine it now...

After beating a high-profile adventure game that had two versions on two different consoles, I pray that this is some kind of "downloadable continuation" of said previous game. I need better closure than that. Either that or WiiSports II.

QFGT.
While I enjoy boxing (especially as an excersize routine), I find it extremely frustrating how the game controls.
I agree that even throwing low and high punches is annoying as hell. This is even more apparent during the harder matches where the opponent blocks heavily and the only way you can hit him or her is to hit low. Uppercuts are also very hard to pull. This is even more evident in the high and low punches training stage. No matter how hard I try to aim my punches they still miss.
