Title: How many users are NOT viewing this site in BroadBand?
Post by: Requiem on January 05, 2007, 05:43:04 AM
Damn it Vudu....why do you do the bidding of other's without there bid?
But my point remains valid.
Do you really think that in 10 years when the internet is at cut-neck speeds that you'll still have the same restrictions you do today?
They why have the same restrictions we had 10 years ago?!

Doesn't matter; you still have to follow the rules.
EDIT: Hm, not sure why a mod removed the edited avatar I made for Requiem. Probably because it was unsuitable for children. Sorry; hope I didn't offend anyone.

Avatar size requirements (not file size) aren't just there for 56K users. If that were the case, we'd have smaller ads and such.
Part of the reason is avatars above the file size limit either break the tables or make posts that should be smaller into larger posts that have a lot of blank space. For example, compare your post to Crimm's. Both one liners, yet your post takes up about three times the size of his.
Now, let's make your avatar 50% bigger. How much bigger does your post get?

It's all to do with breaking the tables. If you were on 56K, you could just choose "Standard Mode" for graphics instead of Enhanced, and you wouldn't see any avatars.
