Title: Action Replay DS
Post by: T1125P on December 17, 2006, 11:54:14 AM
Does anyone know how to get this to communicate with the DS? I had this for one week and tried everything to get the software to communicate with my DS, and it still doesn't work. I have a DS Lite Import but that doesn't matter all DS's can play any titles from any region. All I see in the software is "Waiting for DS" and it never shows my DS codes. Im about to throw this thing away, codejunkies doesn't know anythng either what they say is exactly the same thing in the manual.

Is your usb cable inserted in the right usb port. I know that sounds funny, but my computer has two usb ports on the front, but for some reason some things only work when they are in a certain port. If you turn the volume up, and if your computer is like mine, when you plug the usb cable in your computer should make a noise, like a chime, that means that a connection was made. After that is done, your Action Replay DS should connect with your computer and the list of codes on the card should show up in the left panel of the window. It will do this automatically, you don't have to (at least normally) select anything via the DS screen inputs.
If you haven't already you should try checking to see if newer updates are available. You do this by clicking on the DS card icon in the top right corner, (the DS system icon will just rewrite your AR to all the current codes and that takes a long time as it erases all the codes already on the card and rewrites them).
But, once you have it connected via the included usb cable (unlike the code breaker DS, the AR doesn't use the DS's wifi to update the code list, AR you need to use the usb cable.) your AR's code list should show up on the left panel.

That usually only happens if the device makes you make do a virtual port.

Hi, yes my USB cable makes that chime noise, I even tried to plug it in to the back of the PC same chime noise but nothing shows up. I have a feeling its a software issue, or even it can be a motherboard issue, since I just built a new pc. E6700 conroe with a asus p5n32 sli 590 chipset board. I guess I will have to email the makers of AR "Datel" and see what they can do. Or take a chance and buy another AR.

I was just thinking, do you have your AR to automatically detect a connection? If not you might have to select one of the on screen buttons to get it to start working?
