Title: PAL Wii + Freeloader = no go

It says "can't read the disc". Since I've heard that's not the case with the NTSC version I'm suspecting NoE is asking for a spot on the wall again.

Firmware update?
I'm not sure what you mean (firmware was updated vs. firmware update need to be done). My Wii uses the original not-SD-capable firmware because we don't have WLAN and the network adapter is expected to come out in spring.

For some (unknown) reason, it seems like the PAL Wii can't read the Freeloader/AR. Maybe they modified the original firmware somehow?

I suspect NoE was worried that they couldn't rip us off enough if free trade was possible.

I'm sure this was done intentionally by NoE, but it's basically pointless, since the Gamecube is DEAD...although games usually come out later over there, so maybe it still has a month or two to go before it's buried.

I've got the newest firmware available (2.0E) and Action Replay either does not work with a PAL Wii.
Why i don't really know..

Apparently, someone from the US (and with a US Wii) has the latest firmware and his AR DOES work with it. It's something specific to the PAL version then, regardless of the version of the firmware installed...

Yeah, I don't really see why they needed to do this. Here's hoping that the Wiiloader will also be compatible with GC titles as well.
