Title: Wii Component work with Gamecube?
Post by: LandStalkerNigel on December 12, 2006, 03:49:21 AM
Hey guys. I have the Wii component cables hooked up and it works for my Wii games, but I was wondering if they will have any effect on gamecube games like  RE4 or Metriod Prime. I happen to remember that it said on the back of Metroid case that it supports Progressive scan. I just came back from deployment so I dont have all my gamecube stuff here to test it out. I simply came back and immediatly got my Wii :p

If the GameCube game supports progressive scan, it'll display in PS on Wii too, no problem.  But if not, then it won't.

I think you still might have to do the whole "hold B button down" thing still

Welcome back! Should I holler an "urrah!" or "hooah!"? Actually, maybe neither seeing as I'm not in either the Army or Marines (and I don't know if you are either...this post was so mindless).

Pretty sure this is true. I have been holding B when I start my games and the option comes up everytime (unless the game doesn't support PS).

Wii automatically "holds B" for you when starting a GameCube game.

Not only do they work, I'm quite sure the games look better than with GC component cables.

Nice. The thought of enlisting in the Army keeps coming to my head. The bad thing is, though, is that I'm in college right now and I don't really want to throw that chance away. Maybe Officer Candidate School? If I were to enlist as of right now with two years worth of college, would I start out as a Private?

If you have 2 years of collage, you can start off as a Private First Class (E-3) compared to Private (E-1 or E-2). Gonna have to talk to your recruiter. I only had about 5 months of going to ITT tech and i got in as an E-3
