Title: Router not working
Post by: chris1932 on November 26, 2006, 09:22:14 AM
Everytime I connect to Nintendo WiFi on my Wii everything is great until I test my connection which results in 52003 error code. I tried the Nintendo WiFi troubleshooter's suggestion, but alas it didn't work. I believe the issue is my Router, which is a model WRT300N. The NWiFi says it may not woek with N-routers, so I assume this is the issue. However, I wanted to make sure before I go get the USB Adapter. Can anyone help me out?

A quick Googling returned this message regarding error code 52003, and many other Wii error codes:

chris1932, be careful: if you're using ZoneAlarm as your firewall, the Nintendo Wifi USB connector doesn't work with it!!!
I know, I have ZoneAlarm and bought the adapter without knowing...

It's a firewall for Windows.

On my router I had to turn off any form of Turbo.

I'm sure you can get it to work with Zone Alarm, it's completely configurable. You just need to open the ports that the WiFi Max program uses.

The Nintendo Wifi USB adapter (the official one) DOESN'T work with ZoneAlarm, it's actually written on Nintendo's site:

"Zone Alarm Security Suite: in order to use the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connector, Zone Alarm Security Suite must be completely uninstalled from your computer. Simply disabling (turning off) this program will still not allow a successful connection".

Just checking. I'm gonna restart my router to see if that works. But how do I do that besides just unplugging it?

Is there a firmware update for your router?
