He did say that it would be a good idea for everyone to call the store every day this week at about noon to be sure. The shipment will include first-party accessories and controllers, so I may try to get that elusive extra Nunchuk from there too.

I walk into FutureShop Downtown today, there's a parade of people walking out with Wii's! They received a new shipment! No accessories though, I'm still looking for a numchuk.

They checked nearly everywhere and nearly all of them were sold out.
Walmart only had 5 Wiis on Sunday, and they were all sold.
Gamestop only had 1 Wii. Mom wanted to reserve it, but they didn't allow it.
EB games were sold out
K-mart had plenty of controllers and games, but no consoles
KB Toys supposedly will NOT bring any Wii consoles for the holidays
I hope this is because the system was just released and the next shipment will come in soon. I hope they restock ASAP and the Wii is sold out till next year

Before I got lucky the people at Circuit City told me that they recieve shipment at night so if you get to their at nine (close at 10) they might sell you one they just recieved if you ask for it despite it not being on the shelves. At least where I live they expected them Wednesday night, good luck.

I played Wii tonight (monkey ball and excite truck) and it was fun and everthing worked very well. The classic controller was actually nicer than expected too.
I am reading the Wii FAQ and I am wondering what do I need along with Wii? The only thing I think I need to buy separate is the memory card (sd card)?

No Wii at amazon.com (there are some $700 private seller options), buy.com has none, and I don't think even knows what Wii is (buy.com has always sucked anyway). And absolutly no singular Wii, only bundles.
I have a theory that Nintendo specifically held the shipment back to not only have the launch week with an orchestrated sellout, but also for a repeat this weekend. I have a feeling we'll start seeing Wii consoles start showing up starting next week with much less exclusivity with online bundles, and more in regular stores, and hopefully broader areas.
I hate black friday. I have a headache from trying to track down Wii, and a TV with the online deals which have started and sold out this morning (I was denied buying because of my zip code!), and the online deals would sell out from the time I added the item to my cart to the time I typed my zip code=GONE (Im on dial-up).
I will get my Wii and the TV after the madness, this hassle has not been worth it.

Got up at 4:00 AM. Four of us went, two waited at Target and two at Gamestop. At target they were about 20th in line, at Gamestop we were about 12th at first, but a bunch of people fucking cut. The manager was a douche too, after hearing the complaints for about 10 minutes he comes up with this golden solution: "If you're not in line, you're not in line." He says that a couple times and walks back into the store.
Didn't matter anyway though, Gamestop only had 9 Wiis (zero ps3s lawl). Target didn't have ANY. NONE AT ALL. Bitches.
So that was a waste of time. I'm gonna try again sunday if anyone's still willing to take me. Best Buy SAID they'd have them on Sunday but who knows, it's not like any store has told the truth so far about anything....

My dad checked out Toys R Us for me at 5am, he said there was a line of people (all with shopping carts) that snaked around the entire parking lot and shopping center. His estimate was 800 people, though I really don't believe that. Maybe 300, since there's no way that many people would wait, since only 100 could probably go in at a time. But anyway, even if people at the front of the line weren't in line for a Wii, they'd still probably buy one knowing how sought-after it is.
At this point, I'm willing to wait in front of a store for 8 hours. That's a lot less time than I've spent in the past 6 days going out, wasting gas, making phone calls, and refreshing web pages. The only thing is, I have no one to wait with me - no one to switch off with to eat/go to the bathroom/whatever.
Oh btw, 60 new pages of Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis on ebay this morning. All the scalpers were out in full force.

I'm guessing that they were sold during the black Friday rush, so more units may be available. But at this rate I am giving my hopes of getting a Wii by XMAS.
When someone says "Buy this!" in a massive scale, people will obey and the Wii is proof of this.

And while I'm bitching ...standing in line for a day just to have a chance at preordering (how can anyone have time for this?!), then camping out in front of a store just to 'hopefully' pick one up, then again on launch day where many of these people still did not get their preorders, then to have constant calls to the nearest stores which are over an hour away to constant hunting down these stupid online bundles scams, ebay (what a joke), and all around price gouging has made me lose any excitement for this console I've been following for years, and even invested in Nintendo for. There are/will be people in areas that will not have one until mid-January, after the post-christmas rush, and then again after restocking from the new years sales. Gamecube was the same way and I didn't get one until early January. Quite annoying, but at least some real gamers did get theres already.

It looks like one chain get bulk shipments at a time. All the walmarts near me (well, closest is over an hour away) are still saying they've only recieved the launch shipment and always tell me in a somewhat rude manner they don't know when more are coming. Whats up?!

Interesting enough, he said that finding a console shouldnt be a challenge, but finding additional controllers and accessories will be.
Stopping at Target yesterday, they had PS3s on the shelf when I was there(for how long I dont know) but no wiis.
So my advice, and my plan is to check early check often.
