Title: Who is getting a Wii but NOT ZELDA ??
Post by: Martin Q. Blank on November 12, 2006, 09:24:36 AM: This is the most hyped and anticipated launch game in the history of all console launches!!

So if you are one of the few who aren't buying Zelda alongside the Wii, what is your reason?

Don't get me wrong, it looks beautiful and I'm not going to scream, "Zelda stinks!" or anything. The graphics are beautiful and the gameplay deep. Just not my kind of game. For launch, I'll be enjoying WiiSports (an awesome looking title, by the way) in addition to Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance.

Instead of a 4th launch title, I'll be picking up WiiPoints to enjoy a variety of the virtual console titles from the launch list including Ice Hockey, Pinball, Bomberman '93, Columns, SimCity and Super Mario 64.

For 2007, I'm looking forward to many great upcoming games like Sonic and the Secret Rings, Mario Party 8, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy, Pokemon Battle Revolution, Big Brain Academy Wii and more. I'm also looking forward to upcoming Virtual Console titles like Super Mario RPG, Mario Kart 64, the many Kirby games I've never played before, and Super Smash Brothers among others.

But as I mentioned in another thread I have to get two games to quarentee a Wii on launch day. So that plan got axed so I'm getting it.

Plus, Zelda is a game I'll only ever play through once. Why own it?

All of the other games have four player modes, and if I'm going to drop an extra $180 on controllers so as to allow my friends to play the console which is supposed to be "all about Wii", I'm going to get my money's worth.

Yep. Having two toilets is a bad idea also.

And why have a second bed? I don't need that.

And what is this I hear about people buying more than one pair of underwear? I pimp that same pair out for 5 days on a row. It's commando style on the weekend on laundry day, where I wash my one shirt, one pair of socks, and one pair of jeans.

I think that I just lose enthusiasm once I know what happens next at all times.

Zelda will probably be played in the living room in front of many people, giving it the proper respect it deserves.

Does this mean that I am a terrible Zelda fan? nope. I am a fan, but not an obsessed one.

Also, why rag on S_B because he won't be picking the game up? He already stated that he WILL play it and that a friend will buy it. It would be one whole other thing if he said one of the reasons he didn't pick up Zelda was because "The colors are too dark".

And another thing, when you are on a budget, entertainment takes the very least priority, especially when you have to eat, pay for a home, power, food and water.

Hell, I am a big Kingdom Hearts fan, but I was way too broke to buy KH 2, so I had to settle with renting it and playing through it.

I will still at somepoint pick up the GameCube version as well, I just need to have my Zelda GameCube collection intact.
