Title: Wii predominatly featured in Best Buy's Holiday Gift Guide.
Post by: BlkPaladin on November 09, 2006, 06:29:57 PM
I was looking around to see if Best Buy.com was having a pre-order sale of the Wii and it was up for maintainence so I decided to browser their current store adverts. I saw they had an online gift guide and start looking through it. I found the video game section the front shows a family with just the Wii out and two of them play Wii Sports Tennis. The next page were they had a mission statement about video games show the Wii console. (pages 51 and 52) The weird thing when it comes to listing the consoles. They showed the PS3 with three games (1/2 page, they shared the page with the PSP) The 360 with a full page and on the page with the Wii it recieved half a page but only showed the console, the other half was the DS with 6 games. (page 54) Page 56 had 12 games that were "spilt" between th 360, PS2, PC and PSP.
Note: There isn't a link that goes directly to the gift guide you have to go to the home page and use the link to the advertising and circulars. A link to the home page.

See, by offering higher profit margins, Nintendo is essentially buying advertising. Nintendo blamed retailers for the high price, but I suspect it was a mutual agreement of sorts.
