You need the GameCube Component Cable. Your GameCube must have the 'Digital Out Port' on the back of it.
You'll need a 'Component to DVI-D' converter. I have not researched if it even EXISTS.

It seems the only problem is these things are a hot commodity. Their as rare as hen's teeth. Any chance you could kill your buddy and send me the x2?

The VD-Z3 gets good reviews, never heard much about it personally.

The only review I saw on it was about how it worked well with the Xbox while having problems with games running standard 480p on the gamecube and ps2. http://xbox.about.com/od/xboxaccessories/fr/vdz3rev_2.htm
I'm going to be using this to run Resident Evil 0-4, MGS, and TP when it comes out for GC in December. Do you think there will be any problems?

No matter what screen you use on the cube, you are going to have to hold down the button when it starts up. It's a gamecube issue, not with the screen.
