So what do you guys think? Will the Wii sell twice as many units as the PS3?

well...heres the deal..im betting there are at leasat 2 million hardcore nintendo fans...whether there are more ps3 fans or not ps3 cant sell that many because there will not be enough ps3s...Nintendo will be beating Sony by default....i'm not aware of xbox360s numbers

Yeah seriously.

By default of units available if Nintendo only sells half their stock of Wiis this season they should be able to sell twice as much as Sony.

The question is continued sales next year, and that is a tough question.  It is also important to note that Nintendo has the eye of hardcore gamers that gave up on Nintendo last generation, but now are interested because of the new control system.

This could be a very, very good year for Nintendo.  So much success with the DS already, and the Wii is about to start a true wild fire of new Nintendo support.

Yea, but Sony selling out their uberpriced consoles and losing a few billion bucks >>>>>>>>> Nintendo selling out 2-3 times as many and making profit on each one.

DUH.

Nintendo is going to completely BANK this holiday season.

DS Lite sales are strong with a nice lineup of games coming out for the holiday

Wii sales should be strong from initial earlier adopter fans and Nintendo will make money off of every Wii purchase.  Console, games, accessories...that is a nice bit of money.

Finally, Nintendo will still make alittle money on Gamecube sales, games, and Gameboy Advance sales and games.

Last, Nintendo is positioning itself to be able to state it had the largest launch sales of any system worldwide, with the number of units available in all territories being a nice significant number.

All of this adds up to Nintendo's stock prices rising make Nintendo even more money.  In short, Nintendo is not going anywhere anytime soon, and just one holiday season launch will prove the Wii is a success for Nintendo's bottom line.

4 million / 2 million = 2! YAY!!!

Okay, so they're saying actual money sales, not just hardware sales, but it's still not an overly bold prediction.  I guess maybe the part where Nintendo sells more software because it has a larger library is kind of bold.

Still, since this analyst agrees with my opinion, I give him two thumbs up!! /playful sarcasm

My friends and I are still wondering if Sony won't push the PS3 back to 2007 after they realize that the hardware numbers will be so insignificant that it won't constitute a "launch" anyway.

As for the Wii, we expect that many Sony fans, angry at not being able to get a PS3 (because the Gamestop employees will all buy them up anyway, will probably look real hard at the Wii next.

If Sony actually succeeds at releasing 2 million machines between launch and Christmas, then the poor initial launch numbers are not so bad.  But that's a big "IF".

If they succeed at releasing 2 million machines between launch and Christmas everyone should stay the F' away from those systems.  Reason being they will be issues....BIG ISSUES.  If that happens I expect the usual overheating/fire! to systems missing blue laser doodle things, lol.  SONY:  This is Missing.

Sony will probally have their normal launch. Right at launch have a "problem" with a component supply and have to have another "launch" a few months latter.

Yeah, I fully expect most of the PS3s shipped to have problems with overheating, given that, at a recent tradeshow, there were fans installed under all of the PS3s to keep them from overheating.

Sony has denied every other bad sign we've seen out of them thus far, showing us beyond a shadow of a doubt that they've drifted from reality long ago: is a total meltdown of most PS3s shipped so unbelievable?
