Title: Itadaki Street DS Announced

Mario and Dragon Quest characters battle in the latest edition of the Monopoly-like board game.

First, Square-Enix combined Mario and Final Fantasy characters in Mario Hoops 3-on-3.  Now, Mario and company will join Dragon Quest characters in Itadaki Street DS.      


Itadaki Street is a long-running game series in Japan similar to Monopoly and created by Dragon Quest designer Yuji Horii.  The two most recent editions of the game prior to the DS version featured Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest characters.  This is the first Itadaki Street game on a Nintendo console since Itadaki Street 2 on Super Famicom.      


So far, Mario, Luigi, Slime, and Jessica (Dragon Quest VIII) have been shown as playable.  There is no word yet on release dates or release regions outside of Japan.

THERE WILL BE A FF CHARACTER IN SSBB, PERIOD.

pretty cool, but I would have liked to have seen a port of the Final Fantasy/Dragon Quest make it to the DS.
Sadly I have a feeling we'll never see it in the US, just like the Itadaki Street games on the PS2 and PSP.

Actually this one might finally come over here since Mario is in it.  I'd think Nintendo themselves might even publish it here in America.  With Mario in the game Nintendo knows it'll sell well so I'm sure this one will make it.

Oh yeah, after Mario 3 on 3 and Itadaki DS this is pretty much confirmed. If there isn't even a Chocobo in the game I will be surprised.

It would've been cooler if they did a Square Enix/Nintendo Itadaki game which combined all characters from both combined. Now that would've been awesome!

Maybe the next Kingdom Hearts can include disney, nintendo and square characters if it is on Wii (hey I can dream!).

That would totally rock! I'd love to see another Square/Nintendo RPGish game.

I'll also have to agree with you guys, with all the buddy-buddy Square Nintendo stuff going on it seems logical some sort of Square character will be in SSBB.

Mr. Jack I definately think there is a big chance of Square characters appearing in SSBB. BTW I was thinking about Kingdom Hearts with Mario/Disney characters, well maybe they would be best making another spinoff in the spirit of Kingdom Hearts but Nintendo focused (I also think it would rock to have the original Kingdom Hearts series as well). Also a new SMRPG made by Nintendo/Square would be awesome as well, but I better stop now I'm raising my hopes way to high .
