Title: Is it just me?

Is it just me or do these "real" Wii screenshot look extremely good? The lighting and shadowing is top-notch, the graphical detail is crisp.

O.K they're not PS3 graphics, but I mean come on they look damn good! I can't wait to see these games in progressive scan and widescreen in my room instead of just these mouth watering pictures!

I'm refering to the Battalian Wars II and Red Steel "real" pics mostly. I'd link for you but I'm lazy and you all know how to find them.

The BWii pics in the UK Nintendo mag look better than the official screens from LGC.  Suck on that.

The third party games are definitely improving from E3; look at the Splinter Cell and Madden screens for more proof.. I guess developers didn't have the final dev kits until just before E3, so they didn't make full use of the power. Also, instead of wasting time sprucing up the graphics for E3, they focused on the gameplay. This was the best thing they could have done, since it was the gameplay that made such an impression for the Wii. Now, they can polish up both the graphics and the gameplay in time for the launch of the game.. I've always known, though, that the Wii would be more than capable in terms of graphics - look at Super Mario Galaxy; that with progressive scan will look brilliant. And more importantly, it will be insanely fun to play.

Wii will win a "best graphics of the year" award before its tenure is over.

Well I wouldn't be surprised if a game like Red Steel won best artistic approach or something like that.

Yeah artistically the graphics are better than the rest. Not in any other way I've seen.

Gameplay improvements? Oh heck yea! I read the entire 7 page interview IGN has up with an EA exec going into more details about Wii controls for Madden.

One downside to interview, like everyone else outside of Nintendo he said playing with the Wii is different, immersive, and exciting(i might be imagining the last one) but he wouldn't say better...

At least the games will look pretty right? right?

Cuz that's all that matters.
