Title: Alternatives to a Gamebit?
Post by: Tyler on March 04, 2003, 01:10:10 PM
Are there any alternates to buying a 3.8mm gamebit?  In the old forums someone mentioned there was a part at Radio Shack that worked, along with the part number, but I never wrote down the info.

Yea, that was me. Give me a little while to go look for the part and I'll get you the info.

Sears has a part you can use instead.

Found a cheap Gamebit at MCM electronics

www.mcmelectronics.com

PN#22-1150 It is the 4.5mm size used for the GameCube.  I am sure they have the 3.5mm one as well.

It is 3.95 compared to Lik-Sang @ 14.95.

I used a 1.4mm flathead screwdriver to take apart my GBA.  It destroyed my screwdriver, but I never stripped one bolt, and it only cost me about $0.50.

I think the GC uses a different security bit than the GBA.
