Title: Let's find the Wii release date!

Here's how we're going to do it.
The online retailers have pre-orders for many of the Wii games. For example, WalMart.com has 12 games on their site for pre-order. What I've done is assigned a number for every day based on what day of the year the game is "scheduled" to come out. For example, Red Steel is "scheduled" to be released on October 25, or the 298th day of the year.
For each of the twelve games they have on their release list, I added up their date values and figured their average - and arrived with 3,575 - or October 25th!
So, October 25th is the date that the Wii will be coming out. Or is it...?
Let's use this method on some of the other sites!
A few things to note:
First, any games that are dated for October 1st will have the value of 274. Games dated for November 1st have a value of 304. Second, since we know the Wii will be coming out this year (so says Nintendo), any games that are dated for 2007 are invalid. Third, go ahead and list the total of the dates from any sites you may pick and the number of titles they have listed - this way, we can find the average for all the sites - and get even closer to the true release date for the Wii!
So, starting off- WalMart.com with 12 titles for a date total of 3,575 - averaging out to 297.916 - October 25th.

GameCrazy.com with 15 titles for a date total of 5075 - Averaging out to 338.3 - or December 4th.

My favorite site right now: Overstock.com with 10 titles for a date total of 3097 - Averaging out to 309.7 - or October 6th.

Buy.com with 20 titles for a date total of 6285 - averaging out to 314.25 or November 10th.
Four site total - 57 titles and 18,032 - 316.35, or November 12th.

EBGames.com/GameStop.com with 22 titles for a date total of 6931, averaging at 315.05 or November 11th!
Adding WalMart, Overstock, GameCrazy, Buy.com, EBGames/GameStop and GamePlanet, the date is November 16th!

BestBuy.com, 23 titles, 7255 points, 315.43 or November 11th New Site Total Average (above plus BB.com) puts us at November 15th.
