I wasn't too sure of the game before, but its shaping up to be something to look into. It at least gives some insight into what developers go through to develop for the Wii.

Pretty good. I'm glad they found how to tweak. I'm sure someone out there is as we type is writing data collection software to sell to help you optimize the controls.
Though I do have to say I get a twang of sadness when I see the High Res Capt.

Seeing as how the first game that will have an online option is Pokemon Battle Revolution in December, no.

This really seems like the sleeper hit of the launch. The reviews are solid, and from what I've seen of the videos, it looks fun to play. It's also made by Vicarious Visions, one of the only Western developers that's doing anything worthwhile for the DS. Even when they get stuck with licensed games (Tony Hawk, Spiderman, Marvel Ultimate) they still turn out well. I'd love for them to make something original for the Wii and/or DS.
The problem, though, is that it looks like you need four players to have the most fun with it. I don't think I'll be able to afford that right away.. I think it was Kairon who's picking this up and has four controllers - had a chance to try it out yet? It looks like X-Men Legends, which was great with friends..

It is exactly what I wanted: a straightforward fun brawler. FUN!
What surprised me even more is that out of all the games I got at launch, this is the game that my 18-year old cousin, the game SHE picked out to try out first. Of course, she probably didn't do much research about it, but once we started playing, it was clear that she had made a great choice. We had tons of fun and no one wanted to turn off the game for that first level and a half.
It's is easy to see this game on another console, but while it may have higher graphics elsewhere, it certainly seems like the Wii's newness and individual controllers in each hand made it easier and more fun to play, with me, my brother, one of my best friends and her playing. I don't even know if we were using the motion control that much, we just had fun smashing the A button and moving as a group. I think it's actually the simplicity of the controls that makes it fast and fun to drop into. We had a great group dynamic too, especially when my brother started flaunting Thor's ability to fly, and I discovered that spiderman could swing! Also, it was hilarious how through the first part of the game, the camera would spin endlessly in circles and we didn't know why! LOL. We laughed about the endless SPINNING (see: thumb wars) until a tip in the load screen told us that you tilt the nunchuck controller to do that.
We got through the first level, but I'm curious as to how the deeper mode of buying abilities will make the game. We played it like a straightforward fun pick up and play game, and stopping to buy stats and abilities might slow us down, I intentionally tried to keep us from stopping to delve too deep into something that would require the other three people to wait while one person read the manual.
Still, the surprise that Marvel: UA was the first game after Wii Sports that we played and that we had FUN as a group... this game is definitely not a pushover.

Can't say anything about the Wii version, since I've never played it, but for Xbox 360 it absolutely sucks. It's just walk, hit hit hit, walk, hit hit hit, over and over...and then you unlock some costumes and characters, and keep doing the same thing.

That's basically what brawlers are.
It's more fun with 4 people playing because you're coordinating a team, so fighting and even moving to the next room is fun. But if you don't like games like Gauntlet, Hunter: The Reckoning, etc. then there's probably little chance that you'll like Marvel: UA.

Yeah you have to bve a fan of this type of game to like it, same with Streets of Rage, some people hate it cuz its too repetitive, otehrs love it cuz its non stop button mashing.
I was going to get this as my frist game, now wishing I had got DBZ instead still love it but want MArvel more.
