That thread is hilarious. I'm not going to paste any good posts because I'm lazy, but they're there! Man, let's all thank our lucky stars that Nintendo let that joke of a studio go. Dyack is the laughingstock of the industry these days.
Good times, though. Good times

I found all these gems in the one post but I can't rember who posted it.
Quote What the f*ck?
This pisses me off HUGE. Dyack came across as Nintendo fan #1 so if he's leaving than obviously Nintendo has royally f*cked up huge. I really wonder what they did to cause SK to split.
Quote One thing that REALLY sucks is this kills the possibility of Too Human being the ultimate killer launch title for the N5. In other words the N5 may be doomed from the get go.
Quote I'm really afraid of that because if the N5 doesn't appeal to SK then it doesn't appeal to me and it means Nintendo has changed into a company I no longer am interested in.

Quote Nitnendos "inovation, and individuality" Is Extremely overated. Check out the Gamecubes lineup. Theres Wind Waker, and thats pretty much it. Metroid Prime was Retros baby. Eternal Darkness, one of the most inovative games ever was Silicon Knights. The Sanity Effects were worth price of admission alone. The Rest of the GCN lineup, is pretty much rehash and remakes. Mario Parties, Mario Sunshine, Mario Kart... ect ect. None of these screamed INOVATIVE! Like Nintendos SNES, and N64 titles did. They lost a great inovative group, that like IGN said, valued Story, technology, and games artistic flair, instead of Nintendos emphasis on old school gameplay.
Quote When I first heard of Twin Snakes I really felt like shooting someone. Why would anyone want to play something that's already been out, with the same gameplay when gamers everywhere could have been playing something different, and innovative(Too Human). I can say that because Silicon Knight's past history in games is a good one.

By the way, Too Human will probably change engines soon (DNF anyone?) because they don't like the Unreal Engine 3 anymore.

Haha, after rereading some of that thread, I just realised this quote from Ian..
Quote SK and Nintendo were a perfect fit initially as they shared design philosiphies and complemented each other's weaknesses.
I think he meant to either:
1) Replace "weaknesses" with "strengths"
OR
2) Replaced "complemented" with "compensated for"

Quote Also unlike Rare who came to mind when reading this, they seem to be a stable company and tend to meet deadlines. Nintendo should have bent over backwards to keep them.
LOLS!
Quote But anyway, this might just be the final nail in the coffin. I was upset that Aonouma directed Wind Waker, that Sunshine wasn't nearly as good as Mario 64, that the B-button simply wore out, that Nintendo abandoned 2D for GameCube, that the director of Kirby departed, but I got over those. This is the most upsetting news in a while.
DOUBLE LOLS!!
Quote Well it looks like my last and only reason to buy Nins next system has flown the coop.
That was from CubedCanuck. I wonder where he's trolling now?
Quote How simply dispicable. Today is a sad day for Nintendo fans. If you cant realize this, then i feel sorry for you. Your blind worrshipping of the Sacred Gold Mario Cow is preventing you from seing Nintendo throw itselff off the presipice.
TRIPLE LOLS!!! Sacred Gold Mario Cow. Ahahahaha!
Quote why did i get gamecube I knew i made a mistake getting n64. im not making the same mistake again im getting ps3
QUADRUPLE LOLS!!!!
Quote If this is SK's doing I dont blame them at all. After hearing Iwata speak, I would try to distance myself from that nut job as well. Iwata is going to be the downfall of Nintendo, on the NIN tombstone they will write, "thanks Iwata".
CubedCanuck again. The DS says hello.
Quote What I think will happen next is this: - Sony announces SK an exclusive 2nd party - the announce Too human for PS2 and a game for the PSP - NIN will say this isnt a big deal
CubedCanuck again. Move over Nostradamus.
Quote I would bet $100,000 that SK doesnt make another Nin game.
Okay... I guess he wasn't wrong about everything.
Quote In my mind the "dream" scenario for the N5 to be a huge success relied on Too Human as a launch title. It was the most important part of the launch. It HAD to be there.
QUINTUPLE LOLS!!!!! Ian post, by the way. Jesus, it's amazing how a game with so little information about it was expected to be the greatest thing ever. Not that I wasn't of that mindset as well...
Quote I said it before, I'll say it again: Too Human == Duke Nukem Forever.
From KDR, almost 2 years ago.
Quote By the way, Too Human will probably change engines soon (DNF anyone?) because they don't like the Unreal Engine 3 anymore.
KDR, a few posts ago. Say it again, indeed.

I have inside information that Denis Dyack ate one of Yamauchi's Love Hotel sluts, thus precipitating the parting of ways between the two companies. Of course, in typical Dyack fashion, he then compared his consumption to that of Kobayashi, using rather deep literary references and a bunch of superfluous Ks.
