YouTube and (if it works the same way) Google Video suck because they recompress your files into "flash video" format, which does nasty things to your picture quality (and probably not much good for your filesize), just so that you can play it in a web browser running the right flash program (and nothing else). It's nice to be able to find obscure things thanks to YouTube, but it sucks that it makes it harder to find/preserve them in decent quality.

If your video is smaller than 100MB, you can zip it up with WinZip or WinRAR and upload it to Rapidshare. If it's bigger than 100MB, you can use WinRAR to split it up and upload the seperate pieces. Then all you have to do is give people the "download link". It expires, so it's only good for a limited time. But it's more convenient for smaller items than BitTorrent.

Flash Video, while it may make things look significantly uglier, helps a TON with the size of files.  That is why YouTube and GoogleVideo are possible.  With old compression techniques the bandwidth expense for a service like that would be outrageous.

The company I work for recently launched a web site we are quite proud of.  I was one of four people who put it all together.  It uses FLV compression to make it possible.  The initial download still clocks in at 3 megs, but without FLV that would be about 30 megs.

Check it out.

For some reason, youtube doesnt allow any microsoft windows movie maker videos. Is there any spot that does?

Oh, and the size is 521 kb. anyone know a spot that would work with this?

What is the extension on the file?  Is it WMV.  I be very surprised if WMV wasn't taken.  Though you could take the video and reencode it to Divx.

1024KB = 1MB so it shouldn't be too big with most sites so what file type is MWMM video saved it as (Avi, Wmv, Mov, Mpeg, asf, ect.....)

You could start a hotmail or yahoo email account if you're using something less popular.  If you're already using something like that, be sure to check your spam folder, sometimes these types of emails get mislabeled.
