So basically everyone post the best times you can get upon hitting the flag in each level, we'll just start with World 1 and if this takes off add more! Oh yeah and NO CHEATING and starting from the checkpoint, it'd be pretty obvious if you did that anyway. I guess we'll have to rely on each other being honest, since taking a screenshot of the end of the level can be easily misleading since we dont know if you restarted at the checkpoint or not. Also the fact that lying about a videogame score on the internet is the lamest thing you can possibly do. Together we'll figure out the best route in each level! If someone wants to post a video, feel free!

Care to enlighten us (or at least me)? No matter what, I have to almost stop somewhere on the stairs and it must take at least a second of my time.
Edit: I just got 373 twice in a row! (On stage 1-1)
I was able to avoid the slow down at the staircase by jumping while crouched down. First I jumped about half of the way up, then all the way over. Then it is just a small jump to the flag pole. Do all of this with good timing and you can get over the stairs with minimal slowdown.

Oh, and one other thing, does showing up to the level already powered up, or should there be a rule for all upgrades be gained on the level. There are some places where time can be shaved off if you were powered up, but I only do that if I got the upgrade on the level. Does it matter?

It doesn't matter which powerups you use, all scores are fair. I guess if you do get a time with mini mario though it'd be nice to say that you got it with him, or shell mario or whichever, just so we know. Since there's so many around the levels it might be a bit of a hassle to just stay small Mario all the time. Except for Giant Mario, he could probably exploit a big chunk of time somewhere by just ramming through stuff.
Just got 362 in 1-2.
Another second is possible as well! I can smell it. One time when i got 362 I messed up the end stairs clumsily, getting slightly stuck twice.EDIT: God DAMN those red boxes are annoying!

I practiced a ton in 1-4, I can get 373 in it 5 times in a row now, so much fun. It's fairly straight-forward when you find the right way to do it.
