Title: Why no colorful love for the US?
Post by: raptorspike on June 28, 2006, 06:23:35 AM
Why is it that japan seems to get all kinds of cool colors and combinations for the portables, but we only get one or two (if we are lucky)!

Cuz NOA is too cheap and lazy to even bother offering different colors via online, just like they're too cheap and lazy to put plastic wrapping over the Nintendo Power issues so they don't get shredded in the mail just like they're too cheap and lazy to include a super cool ass E3 DVD with the lastest issue.
Man, this gen already crashed on all fronts before it was able to take off.

Just be thankful none of them are purple. They'll probably start the ad blitz about 20 minutes before the wii midnight launch, they don't want too many people to know about it.

Why would I be thankful for that?

It isn't purple, it is Indigo Extreme.

Insecure North American gamers care a little less about other colours. I'm sure some do but it's not a big a deal as in Japan.
And to meet demand, it's probably slightly easier to mass-produce DS Lites in just one colour, which is why it's only officially/non-importingly available in white.
Plus they get slight sales spikes each time a new colour of something comes out, so they space them out to maintain interest in it. North America will probably see black DS Lites when DS Lite sales slow down...which could be a while.

I'm actually sort of upset I couldn't get my DS in Indigo or My wii at the moment. I was going for color coordination on all the Nintendo systems I've bought with my own money. From the GBC up.

Time to invest in some indigo spray paint. I might seriously consider that if Wii is only available in white (eww).

DS has failed in America so you guys don't get more than one DS colour okay.

I don't know which "baby" was supposed to get over it, since half of the people in this thread are complaining about colours, but if it was me, I am over it. Cause I realize I can just paint it.

When the black version comes out over here I'm going to find it hard to resist, which sucks because I want to hold out for a potential Zelda Lite...

I've been holding out for a special edition DS lite as well.
